TVXQ, Big Bang, SS501 – 3 major idol groups comeback for second half of 2008

We see the impending comeback of great stars like Seo TaiJi, Lee Hyori, Kim Geon Mo and Kim Jong Kook in the second half of 2008. We are also in for the clash between the 3 big idol groups in the k music scene – Dong Bang Shin Ki, SS501 and Big Bang.

The first one to have their comeback will be Big Bang. Recently, we saw that the Big Bang members have been pretty busy with their activities – TaeYang with his popular solo album, TOP attempting drama, SeungRi attempting movie and DaeSung casted in musical. But Big Bang leader GDragon had also said during MBC Music Core in May that Big Bang will be having a comeback in end-July. We are anticipating to see them taking the korean music scene by storm just like how they did with previous hits like “Lies”, “Last Farewell” etc.

Dong Bang Shin Ki who had their last album “O – Jung Ban Hap” in 2006, and after that moving on to the Japanese market, had achieved 2 number 1 spots on Oricon Charts with their single “Purple Line” and “Beautiful You”. They have also been appearing on various entertainment programs, and also have been busy with their activities to promote their single “Beautiful You”. So they have not been active in Korea. Because of that, they will be having a comeback with their 4th album in 2008 for the longwaiting fans.

On the other hand, SS501 released their single in May “De Veju” in Korea. And had recently started their Japanese activities again. They will be back in the second half of 2008 to released an official Korean album.

One of the SS501 members, Kim Hyun Joong, who had been casted for a drama recently. Although this will affect their comeback activities, the planning for their comeback is still under planning currently.

Since last year, we saw the occupation of the Korean music scene by girl idol groups like WonderGirls and SNSD, but we will be witnessing the comeback of the guy idol groups in the second half of 2008 – much anticipated by fans.
