Lee Teuk, “Those who picks at fandom, go look in the mirror”

Lee Teuk wrote on his minihompy on 19th July regarding the culture and audience of their performance.

“You people who pick at this and that of idol culture and fandom should go think about it yourself. You can’t even see your own self, and you are even picking at other’s fingernails. Go look in the mirror. I really hate this.”

This raised the attention of many netizens to Lee Teuk’s post and had also left many unpleased about his words.

Fans had turned up at Seoul’s “Cass Tok Music Festival” on 18th July. Super Junior was the last performer for the concert. And when Lee Teuk left the stage, the fans were making quite a scene in the audience. A problem was also raised that part of the audience had left the performance during the performance intervals. In addition, the recent incident of the silence event at So Nyeo Shi Dae’s performance had point to a problematic performance culture of South Koreans.

Meanwhile, many had left encouragement messages on the guestbook on Lee Teuk’s minihompy like “Why be worried when you are happy? Just let go off whatever’s on your mind and smile”, “Lee Teuk oppa, don’t lose heart” etc.

There were also messages that goes, “Even though we did wrong during the silence event at So Nyeo Shi Dae’s performance, we did not leave the performance hall but just did not respond to the performance” and “It is not the correct conduct to leave the performance hall during the performance intervals”.

I don’t agree with Lee Teuk completely on what he has said, because the silence event at SNSD performance at Dream Concert was, in my opinion, an uncivilized and crude act, no matter whose fault it was.

And by siding the ELF too much will just spoil them even more..

But it was funny how ELFs agree that they were wrong at the silence event..

Idolism = fans = quite chaotic :/

  1. i dont really understand this article…what’s going on ?

  2. I also think that Lee Teuk has no right in what he says. I think the fans did an act against SNSD, they think and many like myself who has had a SNSD misbehavior with their oppas .. Indeed I believe that SNSD is what was deserved

  3. I dont know how this got connected with dream concert. Dream concert was a month ago.

  4. Haha..I DONT CARE! Im really LUCKY im not in their FAN, whatever..all they can do is hate…hate whoever is messin’ with their idol,..aigoo___i felt sad 4 them but @ d same tym im laughin’ cuz theyre sOOO serious like hell shit(SUJU will marry U?) haha..anywayz FANs should only b proud of their idols, n’ Idols should set a GOOD example!!!

  5. ^ if you dont care, then why are you here.

    we dont need more negativity.

obviously, you dont know the history of SUJU and their fans, so. shut it.

fans are always by their idols cheering them on, and the idols are proud of their fans.

teukie seems really angry out of the blue.. i think its cause of the sticker incident. T-T

  6. **sigh**
I’m really confused as to what exactly he’s trying to say here.
but you are right eileen, E.L.F. is getting really spoiled and personally I think that as someone they admire, clearly Eeteuk should address the problems his own fan group has before telling off others.

SM Town is being completely ruined due to the ridiculous-ness of their fans clubs.

when did it stop being about the music?

  7. what does his words have to do with the dream concert incident?
like kyuuwhi said, teuki is mad and for other reasons too not just the other people leaving sjh’s perf.

he should have thought about this more before he wrote it since he is an IDOL but he’s has the right to write what he wants.

  8. my 5cent about bringin in the dream concert incident is to link to the point that korean youngster do not have concert manners..

and lee teuk is siding them, he is using too harsh the words to express his thoughts..

  9. My god~

You know, the silent at DC is really popular~

And i’m ELF. I know that KELF silent was not right.

    But did honey right?

And now, they left when SJ-H were performing~!!!!

However, i agree with Tuek oppa. He did right thing. And he wrote it on his own blog !

  10. I don’t think that this is about what happened in DC though, cause that’s like from a month ago.

I also don’t agree with what Lee Teuk says. He’s basically criticizing the fandom culture of Korea. He’s an idol star. Korea’s fandom culture mainly concentrates on idol stars, therefore he is a part of this ‘crazy’ fandom culture. He’s basically contradicting himself and what he is right now.

  11. The ELF sorta scare me.
Even if ELF stands for Ever-lasting friends.
