Retro furor here to stay?

From advertisements to dramas and movies, or to simply make ‘Nobody’ a song no one would miss, it seems like there is no end to the retro furor in the K Entertainment zone.

But is it here to stay?

There is no denial that retro has always been popular since it first sprouted about 2-3 decades ago, but I thought perhaps retro is getting REALLY popular now.

As if seeing retro this and that on TVs and advertisements is not enough…

..if you haven’t already noticed, retro seems to be making its way into the kpop scene a lot lately too.

No need to mention, the first thing that came to mind will have be WonderGirls.

From making songs like ‘Tell Me’ to the latest ‘Nobody’ into mega hit songs, retro is like the thing that adds spice and quirkiness to the whole concept – something much different from the normal modern.

I don’t know if I am the only one who felt this way, essences of retro and old school seems to surfacing a lot during kpop performances lately, in forms of bold daring colours amongst others.

Though eye-glaring mismatches may occur along the way as well.

I may not be in the best position to talk about fashion anyway, but retro looks like it may just be able to sell better than plain sexy these days – it is can be all funky, feminine, masculine, safe and sexy at the same time. I love how the bold colours, polka dots and checkers never bore.

But is this going to stay? We’ll just have to wait and see.
