So Nyeo Shi Dae Tiffany confessed how she had broken the hearts of her parents because they have to deal with the bad comments directed at her.
Tiffany said on SBS PowerFM ‘Choi Hwa Jung’s Power Time’, “During my time as a singer, it is really heartbreaking for my parents to receive all the bashing for me.”
And the DJ asked, “So, are you distressed with those rumours?”. Tiffany responded, “There are so many people who have been talking about how I shouldn’t have come to Korea, and it hurts my heart that they take it out on my parents.”
She continued, “I have been living in American since I was young, and even with my parents’ objections I still insisted on coming to Korea. And even if I did wrong, I do not get the scoldings first, but my parents. And this is what that makes me really distressed.”
Fellow member Jessica, “A childhood photo without any meaning can cause a whole outrage of speculations, and it is tiring even for our parents.”
Sunny also added, “It is very heartbreaking that some of these scandals involving entertainers in other idol groups started even before we debut.”

Would you be able to be “perfect” all the time? Would you not accidentally speak your mind? Would you not want to look more beautiful so that your image to the public is better? Don’t tell me you’ll not want to do or be those things.
That is exactly what Tiffany is doing. She is letting her real personality show through. She might seem arrogant and/or ignorant at times, but at least she shows it. She is not being fake, like some idols, who giggle prettily at every comment on variety shows while in reality yawning on the inside. She is the REAL DEAL. She is speaking her mind, being honest and opinionated, something many idols are lacking these days. You know well that every human has these qualities inside them. Tiffany is simply an open individual who shows them more often.
Face it: everyone makes mistakes. To err is human. When you broke something valuable of your parents’ when you were younger or said mean things to a friend, did they bash you or refuse to speak to you ever again? No. They didn’t. They forgave you and did not bring up your error again. Imagine if they held it against you for the rest of your life. Imagine if they kept bringing up the mistakes of your past. Would you feel warm and happy inside, knowing they still hold a grudge against you for past errors, or they direct deliberate comments of hatred towards you? No, I didn’t think so. Forgive and forget, that’s what you want them them to do.
If that is the case, why, then, do you not do the same for Tiffany? She is human, like the rest of us. Being SNSD does not make her some perfect angel, incapable of doing wrong. She makes mistakes. She has moments in which she appears arrogant. EVERYONE is like that. However, antis like you, upon seeing her mistakes, store them quickly into your brain and bring them up later on blogs and forums to prove your point. If you want others to forgive and forget your past wrongdoings, why do you not forgive and forget Tiffany’s past wrongs? She’s even apologized. This is something I do not understand. You know that saying: treat others the way you want to be treated.
SNSD has worked hard to achieve their fame today. I’d say it’s well deserved. They gave up their futures, their educations, and some even separated from their families in order to walk the path towards their dreams. As for comments bashing Tiffany about her “plasticness,” let’s face it: humans strive towards perfection, be it physical or otherwise. Walking down the street, your eyes are often attracted towards a beautiful individual. You envy them, thinking of your own face, which might or might not be beautiful. If you were offered the chance, expense or consequence-free, to improve your own appearance, the majority of you would take it, so that you can become the beautiful individual walking down the street that everyone envies. So too, would SNSD, who also strive toward perfection. Do you not know how much they practice each day in order not to mistakes, or how much they take care of themselves to remain fit?
Imagine again that you are a Korean idol. The eyes of millions are upon you; would you not feel self-conscious? Would you not want to appear pretty in their eyes, so that they will love you more? Idols these days have a high level of exposure through variety shows, performances, photo shoots, movies, musicals, etc.; Therefore, millions of eyes will be upon you constantly, scrutinizing your looks and behaviors. It’s amazing how idols such as SNSD do not crack under the pressure of such scrutiny. This shows the true core of steel they have inside.
A list of excuses for your hatred of her and my responses:
“She’s ugly.” <– That's just your own personal opinion. Many people think that she's pretty. Physical appearance is not as important as personality.
"Well, her personality is pretty bad." <– How do you know her personality is that bad? Have you grown up with her? Do you live with her? If her personality was really so arrogant and mean like you make it out to be, then the rest of SNSD would not be that close to her.
"She's fake." <– If she were to be 100% real on TV, then even more people would hate her. Idols thrive on fan support. SNSD is no exception. SNSD is under constant pressure from their managers and surroundings to present a pure, innocent, and joyful image to the public. It's the image they set out with. They must keep to it, or risk reprimands from their managers and company.
I hope my comments have given antis out there something to consider. Please respect SNSD for their hard work and do not bash them based on your personal opinion.

I am a fan but I think if the anti is critizing them in a positive way I think there’s no problem with that. Have you noticed the SONEs on this page in comparison to the antis? The Soshi fans write essays in opposition to issues, while the antis only have a choice selection of words (mostly stuff like “THEY’RE ALL SLUTS”, “SICKA IS A PROSTITUTE” and “THEY CAN’T SING”, all the while swearing profusely).

well, since many of you have speculated why SNSD antis are so harsh and so many…well, if all the fans deserve to congregate, why can’t the antis do the same…if you can’t stand it, than stay out of it. I’m really neutral, occasionally I see a really good pic of SNSD, and think to myself, okay I need to lose a couple of lbs, or get a new hairstyle, do a facial, etc…then sometimes get a bit bothered how their nonsense is even worth all that precious TV time. But hey, you take the good with the bad.
but it’s funny how SNSD became the butt of the blame, and get more haters than others, probably for good reasons too for the things they did, and stand for. But in hind sights, pretty much all the korean girl groups are like that, silly arrogant ninnies who indeed work hard with looks ranging from below average to cute pretty (doesn’t matter if you count surgeries or not), but most are so limited by their minimal talents. As to why SNSD is hated more, well, thanks to the big and mighty SM entertainment that shower money on their debut, except all that exposure backfired…because with that kind of constant in-your-face publicity, even the best editing teams can’t stop the blunders that are destined to happen, esp if they’re live. you can only keep fire underwrap for so long, if these girls are rude, materialistic, superficial and hypocritical by nature, and are so empty headed to have the decorum of when to keep their mouth shut and skirts down, you are bound for a catastrophe.
as for sympathy for these girls…why? celebrities everywhere are under the scrutiny of the public, can you say that you’ve never done the same? why else do you think they get paid more than the rest of the world, ppl make different sacrifices in all paths of career, these entertainers often have to sacrifice their own identify, privacy, and pride even, in their professions. Heartless to some, but if they themselves are willing to put up with it, why should you care? as for families, well, stop showing off that you’re relatives of the celebrities, real love does have be displayed openly in order to be genuine.
I personally don’t think very highly of these girl / boy groups period, to me their music/dance is not art, or make any sort of contributions to any field whatsoever…in another words, they’re perishable goods with fixed shelf-lives, society can exist and thrive with or without them…in fact, if all the fans invest half of the money they spent on these foolish idolization, on some donations of worthy cause, just imagine the difference it could make. As for music, I will take tchaikovsky/rachmoninov anytime.

It’s also true that being a celebrity means scrutiny and criticism, but I don’t see why they have to be attacked. Fans gather together and cheer on whoever their idolize, but anti’s gather to bring someone down. So I am not saying that anti’s should not exist or they should not gather, but if they do gather and exist, they shouldn’t attack the celebrities. Its perfectly fine to keep it to themselves. There are always times when anti’s take it too far. Why should anyone however much they get paid have to risk their health and safety?

Although i don’t really know SNSD, i still think they have the right to pursue their own dreams of being idols. It’s not fair for the anti-fans to disrupt their career when they themselves will not want it to happen to them too. Plastic surgery is really not a big deal at all. Even changing their sex doesn’t matter anymore. It’s very very common. Nobody is perfect. & disrespectful as in what way? You can’t be smiling all the time isn’t it? Some people see them without smiling and thought they were showing attitude with a black face. And who wouldn’t be proud of themselves of being famous? Everyone does that. It’s a normal reaction. Actually, most of the posters and banners that were put up at her parents’ eye-glasses shop were done by Taeyeon’s fans.
The “scandals” or whatever before their debut is probably all those pictures they took with DBSK and Super Junior. It’s a fact that all three groups are close friends with each other since they trained together for years so fan-girls seriously need to get over themselves. Not every idol has to be perfect, they make mistakes in their lifetime. Even though idol groups have that image which they have to make sure they don’t do anything wrong, because they’re setting examples for the younger ones, it’s hard to control that. I’m part of student council, and everyone expects student council to have top marks in their class, to be all-that and such, but we’re not. We all have our strengths and weaknesses. Like Jaejoong, with his drinking and driving incident that happened a loooong time ago… he apologized and everyone forgave him. Tiffany apologized, but no one is forgiving her. Everyone forgives those other idol groups, but anti’s of SNSD really, really hates them.
When it comes to why they hate SNSD. They always name the same reasons and the reasons are really dumb. If you’re gonna hate them, have a better reason rather than: they are sluts, plastic whores, always wear skirts, can’t sing, ugly, fake… blah blah blah.
Saying they are plastic, means you’re basically dissing the whole nation. Many other celebrities have been under the knife, yet no one calls and say they are plastic whores. SNSD probably didn’t even go under the knife. It’s just pictures of them from the past makes people think, “plastic” immediately in their heads. Not everyone is nice, not everyone can be as friendly as Kim Shin Young. Everyone is sort of fake, so there’s no REAL personality. We’ve all been fake before.
To be really honest. I think anti’s are really into SNSD because they examine every single move, every actions and once they do something wrong, they all criticize them.
