So Nyeo Shi Dae has once again risen up to the #1 spot on KBS Music Bank K Chart on 27th February.
This makes them the winner with the longest running consecutive wins on the chart with 7 consecutive #1.
They first had won #1 on the chart with the title song ‘Gee’ from their first minialbum on 16th Janaury. They have also broken the record set by group Jewelry last year with the song ‘One More Time’ that also won 7 consecutive #1 on the chart. When receiving over their award, the girls were tearing with happiness.
All eyes will be set on the girls as to whether they will be able to get their 8th consecutive win on the chart next week, furthering acing the record that they have broken on the show. Especially when there is all the talk about the absence of any strong competitor at this time to the girls.

what’s with SNSD all over the news??? I don’t find that song catchy at all, there are lots of just relased songs better than that GEE… GEZZZ you SNSD!!!

As of right now, there’s really no big name for snsd to compete against. Even though they’re winning a lot of awards right now I’d still say Wonder Girls’ is still the best and better girl group. They’re able to fight alongside with big names like DBSK, Big Bang, Lee Hyori, Rain, etc.
Let’s wait to celebrate when they have bigger and better competition.
i put this consecutive winning up to Gee being the perfect earworm (songs with repetitive melody). That’s the reason why the songs sticks in people’s head, not to mention it has simple lyrics too. Didn’t like the song when i first heard it (own opinion here, no offence), but it sounded like a bimbotic song, but sometimes it runs through my head without notice. Will this make me feel like downloading the song to satisfy my earworm? I think you guys know the answer to this question.
It’s good that they won but I think its getting out of hand. I feel the artistes that are promoting now have good songs and they deserve the chance to get the award. SM is really smart to give them this type of song so that people will get hooked on it. the Nobody craze was also the same. Even my hostel people have been sucked into that craze even though they do not listen to kpop.
i think it would be different if the bigger names were promoting…

i am not one bit surprised that they’re winning #1 so many consecutive weeks. SNSD is active in Korea once all the big names are no loner active in Korea (Big Bang, DBSK and Wondergirls) With the tough competition gone, they face no threat and will continue to dominate the music charts. a very very clever move by their management company to wait it out and let the other household groups battle it out last year while SNSD patiently wait on the side for their comeback. A very clever game plan, a pansy one, but still clever

Sm didn’t exactly plan for this to happen. SNSD were supposed to come back last year, but their comeback was repeatedly postponed (one reason was song copy rights issue, I heard). It was just a coincidence that they started promoting when no “competition” was around. Nevertheless, they would have still been successful with or without competition…
Anyways, congratz to the girls :]]] Very happy for them.

they shouldnt be too happy. SM planned for this to happen especially with no big names promoting right now. if they promoted this song during sept-dec of last year, i doubt they ll get far with it.

I would have thought Shin Hyesung, FTTS, FT Island and maybe Kara would have been tough competition but I guess not? Seems like Gee and Boys over Flowers are the two biggest things in Korea right now.
