Newcomer group f(x) sent their Chuseok (mid autumn festival) greetings.
The 5 f(x) members came together for a photoshoot in traditional Korean Hanbok, their first time celebrating a traditional festival after their debut stage with ‘LA chA tA’ on 5th September.
The Chuseok photoshoot featured the girls looking sweet in their Hanbok, but there was also one thing which caught the attention of many netizens – member Amber in male Hanbok costume.
It is known that f(x) will be in China ChingDao on 6th October during the Chuseok holiday for ’2009 Korea-China Music Festival’ doing their first oversea public performance.
f(x) sent their Chuseok message, “We hope that everyone will enjoy Chuseok. And this year, Chuseok being the first festival our group celebrates today after debut, we ate delicious food together and also made our wishes under the full moon. We will work harder in the future and show better features of us.”

idk what the big deal is or why we are all keep trying to figured out Amber based on something I don’t think she has a choice on. Altho she does wear guys clothes off stage, but in no way does that indicates sexuality or gender identity. All I know is I like when amber wears masculine clothes and I think she’s attractive.

this is so wrong no matter what we say to defend the ‘stylist’ haha. I was so confused when seeing this for the first time. I mean it’s ok when it’s modern clothes, but traditional hanbok is clearly divided to men & girl. HOw can u get a girl in an idol girl group to wear a men hanbok???????????

Hey,just to give you guys a heads up,I love f(x),but this is just my opinion.
What Amber is wearing is a TRADITIONAL clothing. I understand that she’s a tomboy,but the stylists should change something about it. I wear guy clothing very often but I always wear a female hanbok on new years.
It pretty much tells me that the stylists don’t really care about the holiday. They’re too materialistic.

I know I probably will get bashed with “Amber’s prettier than you, you’re just jealous” or “jealous because you have no talent and just are some ugly fat girl behind a computer who can’t sing or perform live(even though I do perform and sing in front of a live crowd and I think of myself better than ugly or fat, especially with being athlete in school sports)”
I find the group to be overrated honestly.

I know plenty of teens who are genuinely gay and there’s nothing wrong about it. And if she was gay in the first, why should she be bashed? After she still is being honest with herself, which got her overrated in the first place.

Her other members have said time and time again on how she feels awkward in girly clothing or doing dances that she feels are too feminine.
People need to get over the fact that Amber’s look is NOT a gimmick or an image. She does NOT feel comfortable in skirts and should not be forced to wear one.
I’m not even a tomboy, but it takes a LOT of coercion to get me to wear a skirt. It’s not about the colors it’s the fact of comfort zones and boundaries that Amber has set.

i’m a tomboy myself. and i agree. i HATE anything girly that comes within my vicinity. let alone something in HOT PINK!!! but my culture has it’s own traditional costume and when time came, i STILL put it on because that’s the tradition.

Enough with the boy thing already! Amber is a pretty girl even dressed as a tomboy, but the male hanbok is a bit much. I think this male image for Amber is more of SM’s doing than it is hers. Once all the hype dies down, I bet we’ll start seeing a more feminine Amber.

Well- I went through a tomboy phase and when I was it was TORTURE to wear anything girly, and trust me I would’ve died before wearing one of those bright, girly hanboks. They are probably just respecting her comfort boundaries and allowing her to be herself and wear what she enjoys. I don’t see a problem with it, unless they’re pushing that image on her.
