anycase i’m not a fan neither am i an anti just that i find their performance lackluster. was expecting that “oompf” from them but i guess it kinda fell short. we’ll have to see how they fare in future performances won’t we?
now about bashing other artistes, it’s kinda like a gray area because like what other replies have stated, it’s hard not to bring in any idols for comparison. i think we want to give a constructive criticism but sometimes we don’t really know how to put it into proper sentencing. that’s why it came out harsher than we thought it would *shrugs* what we think is constructive is actually bashing to some others so there’s the need to find a balance between this two.

honestly, their comeback performance was pretty much what i expected (mediocre singing, legs, fanboys, bright colors). their songs were picked not for them to showcase their singing talents (obviously, SM wants to cover up most of their inadequate vocal abilities), but for them to entertain and perform.
people need to get over the fact that most idol groups are entertainers and not singers (though there are the exceptional both, like 2AM’s Changmin or MBLAQ’s G.O.). if they were all singers, why would SNSD need 9 members? come on now… 2pm and 2ne1 certainly have their “weeds” in terms of vocal talent (ex, Taek/Khun/Chansung and Dara), but all the comments are Taek is so hot or 2ne1 is the bestest girl group in the whole wide world cause they’re soooo talented (sarcasm intended). and yes, SNSD wears a ton of miniskirts and i certainly went OMG what are they wearing for Showx3, but let’s not forget that BEG were scantily clad during sign/abra, T-ara was wearing suggestive animal costumes, and Minji was humping the floor.
fans are always quick to hate on SNSD, but i guess that’s the power of 9. haha. they’ve been around for a few years. imo, it’s been established that taeyeon has the most singing potential (jessica is awfully squeaky, tiffany is nasally, seohyun is rather mediocre) and that SNSD will wear cute, but revealing clothes. that’s not really going to change. get over it.
Is Khun the weak vacal of 2PM? No, I don’t think so as you can hear him sang the song ” Way back into Love” on the Gayo last year. His voice is very awesome including his piano skill. If you refuse, then you should get to see a doctor to check your ear again.
please check your attitude. my ears work fine. imo, khun is mediocre at best. khun is always breathy and the fact that he can semi carry a tune does not make him a good singer. we all know khun got chosen because of his boyish charms and good looks. cutie. yes. strong vocals. no.

I agree that Sunny sounded overly cute and I hope she does not do it again. Hyo recieved more lines and she struggled to sing it, I guess she didn’t know how to sing it. But on her second solo, she did well. Hopefully she’ll improve. Honesty, I don’t like of the outfits. S!S!S!’s hair was horrible.
People saying Sunny can’t sing, she’s trying to overload us with cuteness. Its not that she can’t sing. She sounded fine but sounded overly cute.
The performance was ok. I liked the Oh! performance more that Showx3. I really like the choreography.

it’s not that good, but it isn’t bad.. The song seems quite addictive.. (we’ll see).. I must agree with most of the comments.. they’re not good singers (except taeyeon).. But the other groups are also in that level.. Excluded ballad singers (including 2am), and also DBSK (they prove that they can actually sing very well in Japan eventhough they didn’t really show it in KR.. )So, i don’t have any expectation for them..

And I think that some of the SNSD gals like Jessica, Taeyeon can sing, but this song just doesn’t showcase their vocals.. I think they should abandon their cute concept and go for the talent concept. hmm… when i saw the comments here, i was utterly so shocked that I thought how bad can it be?
but after i saw the vid, i think they’re not that bad. at least not as bad as the comments here said.. yes, some of their voices crack, but isn’t it quite usual in live performances? Even mariah carey sometimes cracks her voice in live performance.
And, no, i’m not a snsd fan. I don’t defend them. I just don’t hate them..
Aside from the voice, i think they look gorgeous! especially tiffany, she looks prettier in black hair imo.. and yuri also improves very well in terms of her singing..

Agree on everything you said.. Haha, not a SONE but yeah they didn’t crack that badly. Apart from Taeyeon, the rest didn’t try to show that they can sing in the song. Sunny was extremely high pitched but she still managed to drag her note.
Glad I’m not the only one who thinks the costumes are kind of bland. From what I’ve seen in the MV and photos, these outfits without pompoms is probably the plainest. I hope they’ll wear something more exciting next time.

Sunny’s voice wasn’t at it’s best, I hafta admit but I liked the stages. I liked the choreo for Show Me Show Me, and I think it will take me some more time to warm up to ‘Oh’.

And to all the ones in love with them (and any idol group). You guys sugar coat it to make it sound like they are the best there ever was. It’s just as bad as the Anti’s. There’s a difference between sugar coating/hating and REALITY.
I’m not an anti, but I’m not head over heels over them, but the performance was overall average. They didn’t really have any parts in their dance that stood out for a good time. (Gee had the intro and the “G” hand movement. Genie’s song was about legs and it reflected that. Also Hyo’s dance solo/Tiffany’s “DJ” part stood out.) If I had to pick, it’d be Jessica’s “Tell me Boy” part.

Also i have to say congrats to Hyoyeon and Sooyoung, they actually managed to sing pretty well (during Gee era they were very off). Also Yoona’s voice sounds soo different in Show me, i’d never recognize it’s her.
Sunny wasn’t as bad as you guys insist. Seriously, it’s pathetic, it seems like people will latch on to the littlest of things to bring a whole group down. Every other line Sunny sang was fine except for one and that makes her an epic fail.
I don’t really care actually whether they performed bad coz this kind of music show can’t be trusted.
U know how they make the singers performed more than once or even until 7 to 10 takes just to get the best angle. They don’t care about the best perf of the singers but they only care about the angles n all. That’s the reason why we could see some singers were sweating like crazy even from the start n some fell down on the stage, bump into each other, cracked voice, forget lyrics.
If they pre-recorded in order to choose the best perf, no mistake will be visible. It’ll be unfortunate for the performer if the TV crew decides to air the bad one.

Anyway, this is comeback stage.. So I don’t put high expectation. for the 1st perf. of coz many of things are lacking including the camera work. They still need to find the best part to focus on. Same to SNSD.. Plus, they’re using headmic here. They are usually weak when it comes to headmic. I think they need to train well on this. When they’re using headmic, they have to manually tune their own vocal rather than depending on the mic, which they usually do using hand mic. That’s why some of them seem restraining & controlling their vocal too much.

how you pointed out the whole restraining voices due to headmics. bc with hand microphones, you usually notice taeyeon moving the mic further and closer to her mouth depending on the tone of her part, specifically during her adlibs? is that the word? where she sings apart from the rest of the group. oh well, they’ll do much better next time.

if this is a comparison to my statement regarding park bom being a vocalist, i think you misinterpreted. i mentioned the fact that her role in 2ne1 is a vocalist not to enforce that its WHY she’ll be better than the non vocalist roles of snsd, but that people get to hear park bom sing more in tune because of her role. the public has more opportunities to justify their claim for park bom being a better singer, than idk, sooyeong of snsd for example.

Thank you. Except CSJH, all female idol group have weak singers, and at least, SNSD’s members who are considered weak can sing their parts without killing my ears, unlike many other k-pop group’s.

im not agreeing with on behalf that you are defending snsd as well, but on that many kpop singers are “vocally weak”. i’d rather think its vocally inferior. im sure with more time on one song, they can pull it off (anyone).
i think one thing people misjudge is the term “idol”.
idol encompasses a form of an entertainer from what i can see. a singing entertainer to be more precise i guess. do people usually call ballad groups idol groups? i dont think so… but im not too sure. however, idols, like snsd, are not gods. someone, being human, has to lack a certain quality OR are just weaker or inferior in other aspects.

As far as I know KBITES is the most reliable site to read and most of our kbites readers are those who love music rather than looks….They are the ones who will give insight comments..not like some other site(Even the writers are SM biased). you can’t always have that ‘perfect’ comeback so I don’t get why everyone is fussing over the girls’ comeback performances. they did fairly good, but Sunny’s squeaky voice is getting annoying to me. this girls have a busier schedule than other groups and they have an asia tour coming up [dont know when but soon]. they sounded a little tired during OH! and I already know why so.
it truly depends on how you judge their performance with your opinion, but to me it was still epic since I am fan. the cameramen just plainly sucks.
I suggest, never ever have your comeback performance on either MBC Music Core and/or KBS Music Bank. They should’ve chose SBS INKIGAYO. They always have the best stage decorations, sound system and camera people.

I think the rewards should come to them only from their real ability not from the huge fanbase (men) and album sales (from those men) like it was last year.

If you’re a true Sone and have seen many of their performances, you’ll know that these girls have talent and deserves to be singers. so don’t say sunny and hyoyeon can’t sing because i’m sure they sing 10 times better than you.

Wow so many hate… So funny how when 2PM’s vocals or any other group’s are weak, everybody’s like ‘LOOL *insert name here* was so cuteeee’, or ‘They’re just tired…’. When it’s SNSD, it’s just ‘They sound awful, they can’t sing’. They are human, where are you from ? Earth ? Wait I’m not sure because on my planet, people have some respect.
The girls’ vocals were great to me, their dance was too. But overall, the performances were horrible. The camera was so messy, shooting members who were not even singing. I’ll say it again, but Music Core is not the right place to comeback.

hyoyeon and sunny didnt sound THAT “shaky” to me. it just sounded a tad bit different from the audio track. thats natural.
sunny didnt crack or anything. it sounded different but not even that terrible.
for example: cl and gd’s performance of the leaders.
cl sounded NOTHING like the audio track. at fiirst, i was like wtf because she sang in a completely different tune than what the audio track sounded like. it didnt sound that terrible, just different.
The girls’ vocals were great but the mics were epic fail. It change change everything. Just compare a head mic Genie perf and a hand mic perf. You’ll see the HUGE difference.

cameraman doesn’t know his angles obviously (can’t really blame him, it’s just their first stage ). I was getting a bit dizzy during Oh! stage. The comeback was okay..but knowing them they will improve

But overall it was an AWESOME comeback. Show Show Show & Oh!’s Choreo is a step up from Gee & Genie. Plus, their vocals were pretty good too, especially in Oh!. But i just didn’t like the camera!! It was all over the place. Hopefully that’s better tomorrow on Inkigayo!

she does try to make her voice sound a lot higher. i think its becoming a bad habit of hers. she often tries to show too much aegyo in variety shows and it probably carried onto her performance habits on stage.
