Along with the news getting out that JaeBum will no longer join 2PM and that his contract came to a close, rumors, protests, and boycotts are the current issues. Rumors such as that JaeBum left because of drug use or impregnating a girl are the discussion between netizens. TaecYeon even deleted his homepage and JunSu closed it down along with ChanSung lastly leaving the words, “Chaos…” Fans are stopping by the JYP building to leave white flowers showing that without JaeBum, 2PM should be might as well “dead.”
JYP Entertainment stated that JaeBum’s leave was due to his personal reasons. Netizens started to speculate the different reasons that JaeBum might have stated. Matters such as drug use, impregnating a girl, and issues that tied back to Wonder Girls SunMi’s leave as well. For the rumors regarding SunMi and JaeBum, JYP quickly announced that there is no relations between JaeBum and SunMi, which in opposite gathered more interest on the issue. However, the speculations doesn’t end there, since there were new rumors that JYP Entertainment started the rumors.
Another issue was the assumption that JYP is making up lies to cover up the JaeBum issues without any more damage. When JYP Entertainment had announced the statement on JaeBum’s leave, they had also mentioned that 2PM had agreed to this as well. HOTTEST are currently arguing that this would have been impossible because the love 2PM members express towards JaeBum is too great. They backed up their reasons by stating all the instances they mentioned JaeBum and reflecting back too the trainee days.
Netizens are also referring to this issue as a conspiracy in general and are currently deciding whether to take this matter to court. Many are confessing that they are tired of JYP for “lying” and being nice about the JaeBum issue when clearly was decided that they were going to let go of him in the end. They are also stating that informing the public with the truth should be first, therefore asking JYP to reveal the “private” issue that was bad enough to make JaeBum leave.
In addition, it looks like the boycotts and protest will only be getting worse from here. Fans are saying, “Reveal the reason behind JaeBum’s leave,” “Stop blaming it on JaeBum and give us your position that we will be satisfied with,” and “Until when are you going to have these fake rumors that doesn’t even make sense circulate around?” Some fans turned in white flowers, which are used in funerals to show that 2PM should be might as well dead if there was no JaeBum. Other fans are calling the other 2PM members “traitors” and are showing dislike towards them for agreeing to take JaeBum out of the group.
Meanwhile, JYP Entertainment will be holding a fan meeting with 100 fan representatives on the 27th.

I think that JYPE’s PR department didn’t do a very good job in that press release. They should have learned from last year’s disaster (ti.e. he MySpace issue) and they should have been more in tune with the fans’ general feeling about Jaebum returning/not returning — just so they could have an idea how to handle “the aftermath.”
They could have handled it better and not try to wash their hands clean by adding the statement “he did something worse than the MySpace issue” which opened the contract termination into massive (often ridiculous) speculations.
They could have just said that they wish to respect Jaebum’s personal decision to leave the group and both parties have decided to end their contractual relationship. I mean, that statement is still very open to speculation, but at least drug use/pregnancy wouldn’t be the first thing that would come to mind.
Also, why couldn’t they wait for the conference before releasing this statement? That would have been a better venue for the contract termination news.
BTW, going to court = worst. idea. ever.

It makes sense and it is logical. I know what I’m saying may seem biased and etc but I too am a Wonderful and I want Sunmi, my favorite wg back because I feel like JYP is stopping her from continuing on with her dream.

I don’t know who will read this, but for now I’ll write. I won’t reveal who I am, but for those who would believe- please do. And for those who wouldn’t, it’s up to you. I’m telling 100% truth and will not make up stories from things that I am unsure of.
Regarding Park Jaebum’s complete withdrawal, he knew about it. It was talked about in between both JYPE and Jay, but it was only a one sided conversation. You’re saying that JYPE doesn’t have a family image? They are, but it is only a term used by the staff and singers of the company – excluding the higher position holders. I’ve been seeing Jay from the start and am writing this because he lives such a pity life. I want to speak out but I can’t. I don’t know where should I start, I guess I should start chronologically.
Jay’s return was 100% confirmed before this. Besides the higher position holders and advertisers, all staff and singers of the company have agreed to his comeback. It was decided that Park Jin Young was to take him back from Seattle by himself. The staff all had in insight and understanding of the boycott and this lead to JYP’s meeting with Jay’s parents in Seattle. It was just a marketing tool to prevent from further boycott. Frankly, we (including the 2PM members) thought the boycott wasn’t very wise. To us, he was going to come back so what was the boycott all about. Soon, as we expected, Jay’s return was drawing near.
Do you know at which part were the fans wrong? JYPE never has a meeting with all the staff. Only President Jong and other higher position holders make all decisions. That’s why none of the staff (eg : the ones who pick up phone calls) have a clear view of the situation allthough we are working in one building.
Anyways, there is a keypoint to Jay’s withdrawal..
The staff has never had any meetings with Jay and has only settled things through the phone.
You’re wondering what had the company said to Jay that lead to his complete withdrawal? I’ll summarize everything for you. I pledge to just speak the truth

They have now succeeded with their own efforts and if you come back, you will cause confusion to them even if they don’t show it. You will also shake the existing balance. Even if you come back, but cannot do well on stage, it will become a great minus to the other members. Think carefully, aren’t you fully happy over there? We will fix the reason for your incapability to return so you don’t need to worry about explaining – but in exchange, you must not do anything that will cause misunderstandings for the fans. There were alot more but I have summarized it to this. Do you get the clear picture of what happened now? Jay had no idea of what was going to happen and was brought to disappointment after picking up that call. Can you imagine how would a youth like him, who was preparing hard for his comeback would feel? They were pretending to be kind to call of his contract termination fine and to help the boys for him. They really didn’t need Jay anymore, it was as if he was just thrown away like that. The members only had to accept this fact with no questioning.
JYPE is a very strict company. Every singer has to ask for permission to feature in any projects and they have to report of their whereabouts everyday.
It was the same for Jay who had withdrew from 2PM in Seattle. They had clear information on Jay’s schedules in Seattle, regarding his dance rehearsals and activities. Nobody had the chance to be dishonest. Jay received the same treatment even if he was so far away and wasn’t allowed to breath for once. Jay now has no rights to speak for 2PM or JYPE and was even told to remain anonymous online by covering his face.
Jay is too nice.
He was worried that he would be a burden for the members once again according to the company’s words. It is obvious that he has agreed to withdrawing because of this. He never did place himself in first place. Jay is a person who would go through anything for 2PM (his members), I am sure of this. He must have thought that he no longer needs to be in 2PM and holds no special significance. He might even feel sorry for creating such problems for the company..
The rest of the 6 members are no where near pitiful. It is Jay that is so pitiful and I feel so sorry for the his awaiting fans. They have now shot all arrows at Jay, so as not to affect the 6 members. Why did they say that the members have all agreed to his withdrawal while they were actually on their holidays? Think properly. You are all being lied to, even I was lied to and will be lied to again in future. The members had no idea of this, but not like they could do anything about it anyway.
I knew that Jay’s withdrawal couldn’t be taken back, but if there was 1% of hope I was hoping that he could come back and be a magnificent leader. The media will continue to write about his “disorganized social life”, as JYPE have planned. Jay will not be able to deny all these, and I hope the rest of you are not waiting for a reply from the members themselves.

JYPE was EXTREMELY angry at two things.
1) Jay showed Korea disrespect through his words (even though that’s just the way he spoke).
2) Jay talked about his contracts to outsiders. This is absolutely prohibited. Only family members can know about your contract terms, but not friends and on a public website. The public now knows about the “contract secrets” – terms of his contract that JYPE didn’t want anybody except the artists to know.
(For the haters that are going to attack us by saying the boys have mentioned their contracts on TV, that’s a different story. They don’t go around on TV complaining about their 10-year contracts and how their dad had to beg JYPE to lower the years.)

I’m over 2PM. In fact I was never really a fan. There’s only one male group I can say I am a fan of and would support them and that’s Big Bang.
As soon as Jay left and their new album came out I was over 2PM. Honestly, the only reason why I liked them was because of Jay, his singing, his dancing and his personality. For me, 2PM was Jay. Since he left their music hasn’t been my thing. I have started to appreciatr Wooyoung and Junho’s vocals but not enough to get me to be a fan.
I wish all of them luck though and hopefully they can pull through this mess without the members suffering too much emotional damage and Jay’s reputation not being completely tarnished. I hope he’s happy/finds happiness in Seattle and something that he can devote his time and passion too. I would love to see him back in Korean entertainment again…Maybe in YG? That would be sick, I totally think he could fit in. But that would be a huge risk for YGE *sigh* Oh wells…..
oh, I totally agree with you! I’m over 2PM as well, jay was my favourite member (if not the only one i really liked) but after he went away, my interest in 2PM went away too. I am guessing they take the term “sat down” literal because nowhere in there does it state everyone was face-to-face. Does it? Logically if all the members are in different places they could have had a conference call – video or otherwise. (Skype anyone?) Three days is a lot of time to contact everyone – is it not?

JaeBeom contract termination doesn’t need the other 6 member agreement. JYP Ent management higher command can do that at their disposal. they can asked the other 6 but that is really up to the higher people whether they want to asked their opinion or not.
yes, I do not know the content of their contract but I do know what term of contract are because contract has the same structure. either party that sealed the pact can each decided to terminate it as per their agreement written there. I can’t blame JYP Ent to do such thing, its their right.

If they sign on as a group then they sign the contract as a group – seven signatures on one contract. Not one – SEVEN. When they signed it they got their name – 2PM. Prior to that they signed on as trainees and had only that contract with the company.
As a group, a whole other contract is signed with ALL SEVEN SIGNATURES. So yes, the other members HAVE TO BE NOTIFIED about anything and everything that happens within the group.

quite an assumption but as far as I know about talent contract in any talent agency is it never as a group because they accepted in JYP Ent as an individual after certain screening and belong to JYP Ent only. yes they got grouping as 7 member 2PM afterwards but contract to JYP Ent previously should remain the same.
if ever there’s another contract exclusively about 2PM then it’ll be seperate contract attached to each individual contract. JaeBeom had retired from his position in 2PM then the only contract that still intact is his individual contract as JPY Ent talent.

But if Jaebum really did make some big personal error that would affect his image as 2PM member, and the group itself, then it’s not impossible that 2PM wanted to respect Jaebum’s decision to leave the group permanently. I do not believe on whatever that “personal mistake” is. What reason does JYPe have to make this excuse up? I’m thinking to put the blame on Jay and not the company. He left because of that mistake which nobody has even heard about. Still, I can’t believe the company can go low like that: to defame jay’s name to make the company come clean. No offense to anyone, but I honestly think that 2pm fans need to get a grip on reality. I understand that they really care about 2pm, but they’re just a boy group. To be so invested in them is kind of scary and unhealthy, and that they’re willing to take this entire situation to court is ridiculous. It’s great that they’re dedicated fans and yeah, they do deserve some honest answers, but they need to realize that there’s more to life than these idol groups.

i dont think the point is to diss 2PM fans. i think the point is to fans in general. to not get their lives so involved with these artists.
