Singer Rain talks about junior group MBLAQ.
Rain was on SBS ‘One Night TV Entertainment’ aired on 27th May where he was revealed on how he look at group MBLAQ. He was asked about the group whom he has personally groomed “To Rain, MBLAQ is?” and his answer was, “siblings”.
He also talked about Park JinYoung who was the one who groomed him, “Even though for JinYoungie hyung, it is the same, he always told me ‘I will be touched when you get to surpass me’.”
Rain also added, “I think that I’ve surpassed Park JinYoung. I even received a call from him asking me if I think he was a vaulting horse.”

jyp was the one to name him “world star” to the media.
now, although rain may not be a world star, jyp has worked his ass off to make rain hold that title in korea.
and the many many things rain has done.. he wouldnt have done all those movies/songs/etc if it wasnt for jyp.
to be honest, rain cant sing, and he cant act.
but jyp did all he could to make him widely known ..in korea.
rain.. did not, and will never surpass jyp.
he should think again before he says anything like that.

Rain annoys me every time he says he surpassed JYP. No you haven’t Rain. You might have a lot of money, but more than half that money you acquired under his tutelage. He taught you everything, stop being so cocky and give the man his props. Especially right now that everybody is giving him a hard time, why don’t you try to give him some credit.

I know he thinks he is up there but the fact remains that Rain is JUST STARTING his company. Yes, he has a clothing line and yes, he is known over Asia. However, when you say WORLD STAR there are very FEW who fit into that category. The first two people that come to mind are Madonna and Michael Jackson. These people are known worldwide, by fans over MANY nations on every continent.
As a producer he is still very far behind.
As far as a CEO, he is still wet behind the ears. He has ONE group under his belt. Look at the number of groups JYPE has had and currently has and the success of those groups.
JYP, himself, is probably on par with Rain when it comes to performances and concerts. The jury is still out though. We have yet to see where Rain is when he is in near 40.
Honestly, what we need to do is create a timeline and see the accomplishments and acheivements. JYP has been in business for 13 years. In 10 yrs lets check back with Rain (he has had his company for three yrs already) and see where he is and how much success he has had as a CEO.

Rain earns loads more for a start. Even though that movie didnt go brillant but he is actually a world star. he was famous and know world-wide before Kpop even spread.

to be a world star…you have to be known world-wide…he isn’t that famous here in the States or even abroad. apparently you haven’t listened to Korean music for that long but JYP ruled the music world…he was incredibly famous and sold more albums than all of Rain put together cuz that was when (and I mean the 90s) when people were selling albums in the millions…JYP alongside Kim Gun Mo and Shin Seung Hoon are also some of the other people that have done the same…as an artist he has not surpassed JYP, he’s just had more opportunities and waht seems like more fame because of the internet

Sure the fact that rain has done a couple hollywood movies is a great achievement. But if he wants to surpass JYP he’ll have to do it in the field JYP is in. Doing something people haven’t done isn’t surpassing them. Shoot Have you every made pancakes with the bacon already in it and have it taste good? If you haven’t, I’ve surpassed you. Need to use the former logic not the later.
So imho if Rain wants to say he surpassed JYP and it hold true I want to see him write for foreign artists and have the song turn to a world hit or make Mblaq become bigger than him and all JYP’s groups. If not then the media is just blowing smoke up his ass.

BTW, Rain got his hollywood movie contract when he was UNDER JYPE. So Park Jin Young was the one who worked out the contract for him. Rain is just collecting the fruit from JYPE’s labor. Private plane? He was only able to get it because JYPE is a fair company and he was paid very well. Do you think other artists from other companies can afford private planes???? NO!
