KARA’s Seungyeon turns down role in drama “Playful Kiss”

It will be hard for Han Seungyeon to participate in the upcoming drama ‘Playful Kiss’.

Management for KARA stated on the 6th that “KARA will be debuting in Japan this coming August. Because of this, joining ‘Playful Kiss’ will be hard in reality because of the conflicting schedules. Although it is a good opportunity, it is really not probable at this time for her to join the drama. We have already told them that her joining the drama will not be possible because of this conflict.”

They added “Although being included in a drama is a good opportunity, the debut of KARA had already been promised to their fans in Japan and they do not want to break their promise. Debuting abroad is about good timing, and we have been preparing hard for their debut in Japan for a long time.”

There had been a lot of interest among netizens about the cast of the upcoming drama ‘Playful Kiss’, and the casting has been a hot topic as well. Among the strong contenders are Park Bo Young, Han Seungyeon and Park Shin Hye.

    I like all the girls the company’s thinking about choosing, but I’m glad she decided not to do Playful Kiss; all the other girls have at least some acting experience and as far as I’m aware of, she doesn’t have any. And having your first acting experience be the main character? There are some idols that are good at acting, but most are best in what their main career is: singing and dancing.

    SY would make a very match character of the girl in Playful Kiss. i can imagine it already. with her smile eyes haha

      Park Shin Hye, Seungyeon and even Sulli !

      I also prefer a real actress for the role but nowadays, idols are what sell the most in Korea and that’s why Drama tends to cast idols because they want good ratings lol.

      You hate DSP for that but Seungyeon is a singer and a KARA member, I would hate Seungyeon more if she was selfish to take the drama knowing that it would make KARA to cancel Japan.
      However, Seungyeon is a great person and I know she agrees with DSP because she loves her fans more than a personnal opportunity.
      She will have more opportunity in the future and we will be able to see her in a drama soon or later !
