Set for Japanese debut, KARA receives overwhelming response after appearing on local music program

Ahead of their first Japanese single release on 11th August, KARA had left for Japan on 29th July and is currently doing promotions there.

Greeted warmly by over 100 fans at the airport when they reached Japan, the girls did not take a moment to rest and went straight to NihonTV music variety TV program ‘Happy Music’ where they performed together with other local stars like AKB48, Chemistry etc. And their performance had received overwhelming response.

As soon as the reservation sales for the girls’ upcoming album opened on 15th July, all 3 versions of the album were up #1,2,3 on the local daily album sales chart Tower record.

Other than that, the girls’ Japanese version of ‘Mister’ MV was played on all 8 large screen LCD screens in Shibuya. There are also plans for the girls’ posters to be put at 1800 various famous convenient stores (ampm, Family mart, Lawson).

The girls’ appearance on ‘Happy Music’ is set to air on 13th August.

  3. Mister is a good song to debut with, personally speaking. I’m not sure with 4minute’s (altho I wish them luck, too!), but Kara’s Mister and SNSD’s TMYW are pretty good singles to promote there at their first try because those songs could also comply with the “fan service” thing big girl groups are doing there without completely letting go of their Korean image (and not upset their K-fans, perhaps). That’s just what I think.

Anyhoo, that’s good news for KARA! Good luck with the Korean groups promoting in Japan! ^^

  4. i will wait until we see what will happen
    aha and you are omgosh

  5. Just wait until SNSD begin promotions. This is merely 1/4 of what SNSD will achieve

    • plzz…. GTFO alreayd nobody is interested in what SNSD will achieve just to remind u this is a KARA article if u want to brag about SNSD go brag in their article… …

    • @Omgosh
      immature and rude comment.
you are in the wrong article.

    • Stop trolling will u?

I’m a SNSD fan but I don’t see a need to brag in other groups’ positive articles.

I sometimes doubt that trolls are actually fans of the mentioned groups. Might be some people who have too much spare time or even some immature kids.

  6. I wish Kara the best in Japan!! ^^ I’m not a fan but i only like them out of the 4 groups debuting in Japan.
    hope they beat everyone else🙂

and to the idiots up there ^ “toho helped pave the path for other artists in japan” uhh STFU. im sick of retarded cassies always having to give credit to dbsk for something that nobody knows for sure. u make it seem like the other groups aren’t capable of succeeding without dbsk and that’s not true.

    • Kara will do well in Japan. This is totally the Japanese style…

    • can you too stop generalizing all cassies into a bunch? I’m not a Cassie, but honestly, Toho did pave a way for korean artists. and let’s face it, they would’ve gone further if not for the lawsuit.

      • NO. TVXQ is not the first group who pave way for K artists. HOT and Boa are the ones. Cassies are alyways in dream. TVXQ no LONGER exit

    • @charm yes Toho did kinda pave a way for korean artist but the problem is that this article is not even about TVXQ it’s abotu KARA ….. what some of you cassies are doing is saying that without DBSK KARA/the other korean artist wont even stand a chance in JAPAN which is not really true… even though DBSK was one of the first Korea Group to be popular in Japan but that doesnt mean that without them they cant be popular …

      • @charm & Lolz I’ll stop generalizing when you stop bragging about DBSK with no proof. First of all do you guys have proof DBSK helped pave a way for Korean artists? Do you have it? Can you show me exactly how? Because I don’t see it.

You make it sound like without DBSK no one else could have succeded, when in reality you and I both don’t know that cause we can’t obviously know the future. Bae Yong Joon is a big star in Japan and he is Korean, so did he help pave the way for DBSK? cause he was there before DBSK.

The cassies that do go around saying stuff like this, whether they are cassies or not are ridiculous and dont realize how stupid and baseless their argument sounds. Degrading other artists doesn’t make yours any better.

And you ‘”Lolz” make no sense whatsoever. Your first sentence “yes Toho did kinda pave a way for korean artist” but then you go on to talk about how “even though DBSK was one of the first Korea Group to be popular in Japan but that doesnt mean that without them they cant be popular ”
You are contradicting yourself, saying that yes DBSK did pave a way for other Korean artists, but then saying that is false that without DBSK other korean artists won’t stand a chance in Japan. That’s exactly what “paving the way” means, that without DBSK these groups would not be even noticed in Japan.

        Ridiculous, simply ridiculous.

    • ‘im sick of retarded cassies always having to give credit to dbsk for something that nobody knows for sure. u make it seem like the other groups aren’t capable of succeeding without dbsk and that’s not true.’ agree.
cassies loves bragging in every article related to Jpop.

  7. Best of luck to Kara, i wish them a successful debut in Japan.
Would be awesome to see them on Arashi’s show teaching the
boys the butt dance. la la la la la la

  9. I really hope KARA will do great in Japan
    KARA JJang !!!!!

  10. in rome, you gotta act like the romans. they say. mister was perfect in all aspects..song, dance and outfit fit together like pieces of an epic puzzle. it was the perfect song to attract masses. japan ain’t a bus ride away so just make it or break it.

  11. can’t wait to see kara dance Koda Kumi, lollipop.

    • My goodness this woman is Hot !!!
I think i might switch sides for her lol

    • KARA, 4minute or anyone from K-Pop would not dare do what Koda Kumi in the past 10 years that she’s done.

  12. when Tohoshinki was a rookie group in japan, people love them for their talent not for their sexy dances or catchy songs.

    • KARA’s Butt Dance >>>>>> THSK songs.

    • This article has nothing to do with Toho so why u brought their names to this article

      • Well, there is some indirect relationship. Tohoshinki accomplished an amazing feat, crossing over from Korea to Japan, which IMO helped pave the path for other Korean groups, or at least made it easier for them.

      • just ignore the troll. its obvious there just doing it to create wars.

      • @ Anon Im cassie and bigeast and I know that our boys accomplished alot in Japan and it might have helped many other kpop idols but we dont have to mention their accomplishment in ever article about artist trying to break into JPOP b/c writing these type of comments will not only going to make us cassies look bad but also it will make our boys look bad and us cassies have bigger things to think about

    • Totally agree with BigEast5

Kara has better songs… why debut with Mister????
they want horny Otakus as fans.

    • “when Tohoshinki was a rookie group in japan, people love them for their talent not for their sexy dances or catchy songs.”

well that’s true, I don’t see anything wrong with that.

      • that person was bringing down kara by implying that kara doesn’t have any talent. >.< and its wrong to bring in toho when they weren't even mentioned in the article.

    • We’ll see who has the last laugh

      KARA>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>anti

    • Anti Do You Really Want To Go To Hell? just continue ur bad habit and feel the pain of fire…………

    • Toho boys take off their clothes like most male idols, they’re not above using sex to sell their music. Yes, they are talented, but they’re not completely pure and innocent. Why would you even mention them? This article isn’t about them.

Why can’t people just be kind and supportive to Kara. There are always mean, rude comments in almost every Kara post, it’s really pathetic. The girls work hard, just like most idols, and their management decides which song and concept to promote, so stop criticizing the girls.

      Good luck Kara! Ganbatte ne!!!!

      • when i saw the title of this thread, i already expected that some people would be mentioning DBSK. it happens every time there’s news of Korean artists doing their things in Japan, they would mention how that group should be thanked for ‘paving’ the way for other artists in Japan blah blah blah. it never gets old. i think, in the next ten years, they would still be harping on this. yes … they are really pathetic.

by the way, good luck to Kara and all other artists who are going into Japanese market. i believe it’s big enough to accommodate any artist wishing to make it big there.

      • You know, apparently, it was the late actor, Park Yong Ha who first made it big in Japan as a Korean singer, with his Hallyu popularity. As DBSK fans would know, he knew JaeJoong, and Yong Ha had given many advice to other K-singers attempting to cross over to Japan. So DBSK fans shouldn’t assume that it was DBSK who “paved the way for K-singers”

      • I thought it was Boa who paved the way, no?
Esp for AVEX to build trust in promoting korean artists. boa is definitely the one who paved at least Toho’s way.

I’m sick of some cassies being all cocky in all japanese promotion related. They even dissed Boa in some articles. Like for real???

        @anonymous
I agree. DBSK is no different from other idol groups. They sell sex. Do u think those fangirls will go gaga over them if they look butt ugly? No! Junsu even released a song about sex.
If it’s all about talent, Brown Eyed Soul would be the biggest n most popular male group. All covered in suit, average looks but amazing voices and musical talents.

        KARA HWAITING!!!!!!!!

  13. good for kara..

  15. Kara is sooo gonna be huge in Japan..I can feel it in my bones already..I hope the gals will have tremendous success over there..Keep on the hard work in the japan promotions and i’m sure the hard work will pay off sweetly.. =)
