Teddy, “I did not plagiarise anything”

Following the reports that YG Entertainment whose artists include GDragon and 2NE1 has received notification letters concerning infringement of copyrighted materials from a local copyright holder, Teddy (HongJoon Park), the composer and producer of 2NE1’s “I Don’t Care,” had an exclusive phone interview with AM 7 on the 24th to express his position on the issue.

Whenever there was a dispute over plagiarism, it was usually the label (who has the neighboring copyrights) who released statements to acknowledge or deny the accusation. This is the first time that the composer, the copyright holder, has spoken about his position.

YG Ent is the top company netizens want to apply for to be singers

Netizens have picked YG Entertainment as the company they want to enter in as singer the most, and as the company they can trust the best.

A survey was done from 15th to 22nd September on community portal site DCInside on the question of “If you are a singer wannabe, which company do you want to enter the most and which company can you trust the most?” and YG Entertainment has came in #1 on the survey.

Yang HyunSeok had an interview recently, and in the interview he said, “My love for Big Bang, anticipation for 2NE1 is great” when he was asked “Between Big Bang and 2NE1, which group do you have more love for?”.

He continued, “I’ve seen Big Bang from they were young. Not only so, I’ve seen them through as talented individuals becoming ‘pro’s and they were a united team. How can you not love them?” laughing.

Group Super Junior Kim HeeChul talks about the acting passion of his SM Town family member Dong Bang Shin Ki UKnow YunHo.

HeeChul was present at the press conference of his comeback drama SBS weekend drama ‘Thousand times I love you’ and talked about UKnow YunHo’s recent conditions.

He said, “I talked a lot with UKnow, and we spent fun time together. He is a friend with leadership and does well in everything. And he is recently living his drama character. He wears his training suit and uses dialect.”

“YunHo really like acting and wants to do well. He is living like his character well and brings out his drama character well.”

Meanwhile the first episode to UKnow YunHo’s debut drama ‘Heading The Ground’ will be aired on 9th September.

2NE1 to end promotions for ‘I Don’t Care’ with 3rd remix – unplugged version

Popular girlgroup 2NE1 will reveal the 3rd remix version to the song ‘I Don’t Care’.

The group won 5 consecutive #1 on KBS Music Bank and 3 consecutive #1 on SBS Inkigayo, as well as topping various online music charts, taking the Kpop realm by storm with the song ‘I Don’t Care’.

A representative from YG Entertainment said, “2NE1 has much greed to show everyone new features everytime through much practice.”

The 3rd remix will be made by Rollercoaster’s Jinu and 1TYM’s Song BaekKyung and will be a unplugged version. It will be a remix with a 180degrees transformation from the original song, and will be revealed on SBS Inkigayo on 30th August.

The group will move on to promote 4 other songs from their 1st minialbum as followup promotions from ‘I Don’t Care’.

JYP Entertainment’s CEO Park Jin Young reveals his close relationship with singer Rain.

He uploaded a photo on his Twitter account on 26th August, with the note “Last night in Korea. 3am in da club. Loud music, cigar, champagne, with my brother Rain, Cool..” attached.

The photo featured him posing with singer Rain while smoking a cigar. Netizens’ responses were, “Haha~ I love pictures when you guys are together”, “Must have been loads of fun (: Both of you guys look amazing” etc.

Park Jin Young is back in Korea to work on 2PM’s upcoming new single album.

Fans get a sneakpeek into Jewelry at the filming of their new MV after concept photos to the group’s comeback were released previously.

They will be releasing their 6th album ‘Sophisticated’ on 25th August, and on 15th August they were at a filming set in GyeongGiDo filming for their title song MV ‘vari2ty’. And the girls were seen in designer Lee SangBong fashion collection for the MV filming.

It was said that Lee SangBong has agreed to help out with the fashion clothing aspect to the MV filming. And the members were seen in noble and elegant women concept for the MV.

2NE1 ‘I Don’t Care’ voted the best summer hit from YG Family

Girl group 2NE1 has shown their power through the great summer heat.

A survey was done on music site Monkey3 (www.monkey3.co.kr) from 7th to 14th August on the question, “Which is the YG Family summer music which can help you forget the summer heat?” and 2NE1 was voted #1.

The song was voted with the reasons provided by netizens, “The soft reggae melody is just addictive”, “A song that gives out great refreshing and cooling feeling”, “Representative song for this summer” etc.

Same day release – Big Bang GDragon vs Brave Brothers

Big Bang GDragon and the Brave Brothers (Gan DongCheol) released their first solo album on the first day today.

GDragon released his first solo album ‘Heartbreaker’ on his 22nd birthday today, which includes 10 songs in it. With accusations of plagiarisms after the preview to the album was released earlier, fans holds much more anticipation to the album release.

The MV to the title song ‘Heartbreaker’ directed by Seo HyunSeung who also did 2NE1’s ‘Fire’ MV, was also released on the day of the album release. GDragon was seen in a strong new image for his MV.

While producer the Brave Brothers also released his first project album on 18th August today. Known to be one of Korea’s best music producer, much attention is put on Brave Brother’s emphasis that his album will continue music and sounds of his own style.

T-ara’s company apologise officially to MBC for song leakage

T-ara’s company has issued an official apology to MBC about relating the group’s song leakout to MBC.

T-ara’s company Contents Media has previously protested against MBC for having the group’s song ‘Wanna Play’ played on MBC radio ‘TaeYeon ChinChin’ on 20th July ahead of their debut.

But with that, the company has came out to say that this is all a misunderstanding and has issued an official apology to MBC through the press on 29th July. There was some misunderstanding about using the song to be played as a preview teaser for fans and listener between MBC and T-ara’s company.

But knowing that the song is through and approved for broadcast, T-ara’s company has came out to apologise for the misunderstanding.

Meanwhile, T-ara had their debut on MBC Golden Fishery on 29th July.

Lena Park to stop singer activities for overseas studies in the States

Singer Lena Park (Park JungHyun) has put her singer activities to rest to pursue further studies in the States.

Currently majoring in English literature in an university in Colombia, Park Jung Hyun is left with 2 more semesters to complete her 4-years course. But for her singer activities, she was back in Korea last year for recording workds. She has left Korea for the States on 22nd July and will be staying there till she finish her study course.

Park JungHyun said, “It’s long when you say it’s long, its short when you say it is a short period, I was worried if everyone will forget about me after this. But I wanted to complete my studies and come back with new music and mentality. I will be back end of the year for a while to hold a public performance.”

Lena Park will end her singer activities for now with her appearance on MBC ‘Music Journey La La La’ to be aired on 29th July.

Teddy, “I have planned to go watch Michael Jackson’s concert with TaeYang”

YG music producer, 1TYM Teddy has once given high anticipation for Big Bang member TaeYang.

Teddy was the composer to TaeYang’s solo album title song ‘Look Only At Me’ released last May. And now he is currently working on TaeYang’s 2nd solo album. It is planned for TaeYang’s new solo album to be out in October.

Teddy said on 27th July in an interview, “TaeYang has been a trainee under YG Ent since elementary school, he is a dongsaeng I’ve seen from young. Even though he is younger than me by 10 years, he has seen more about music etc than I have.”

So Nyeo Shi Dae will be back releasing their 2nd minialbum ‘Tell Me Your Wish’ on 25th June.

‘Sexy icon’ singer Lee Hyori will advance into China through CF.

She has recently been appointed the model for Hyundai car in China. With that, the CF is set to air the latter half of the year.

The CF will be in the form of a music drama. And this time, Hyundai had the group who did Anycall’s ‘Anymotion’ and ‘AnyStar’ for this CF. With this, Anymotion’s ‘Dream Team’ director Cha Eun Taek and composer Park Geun Tae will be working on this upcoming CF.

As for who will be acting alongside Lee Hyori in the CF is yet to decided, but casting will be done in China.

Rapper Outsider is #1 on Cyworld with ‘Alone’

Rapper Outsider, whose new 2nd album was leaked out before its official release, has his title song ‘Alone’ from this new album #1 on Cyworld.

His song ‘Alone’ has cleared away competition from duet song ‘Beauty’ by Yoon Gun and Lee Hyori, and also ‘Fire’ by 2NE1.

The song ‘Alone’ features a 14-member string orchestra, and has a melody line and feel to hip hop singer MC Sniper.

His company SniperSound said, “We sold a record 5000 copies of his 2nd album, and we are looking at a higher album sales to comer. Even though we have suffered some loss through the album leak, we are very happy and thankful for fans’ overwhelming response.”

Outsider will have his comeback stage on 4th June on Mnet M!Countdown.

2NE1, “Our role models are Lee Hyori and Um Jung Hwa”

Group 2NE1 has revealed that they take singers Lee Hyori and Um Jung Hwa as their role models.

They were on MBC radio ‘Park Kyung Rim‘s Starry Night’ on 2nd June for their first radio show when they were asked, “Which seonbae singer do you want to be like” and the answer was Lee Hyori and Um Jung Hwa. Park Bom has answered Lee Hyori while the rest of the members answered Um Jung Hwa.

And about the males stars they like, Park Bom answered Jang Dong Gun, Sandara Park answered Won Bin, CL answered 1TYM Teddy and MinJi answered Brad Pitt.
