SBS ‘You’re Beautiful’ is #1 in viewership in Japan and best selling drama DVD in Korea

Drama ‘You’re Beautiful’ is said to be up #1 in viewership on Japanese broadcast TV and also #1 for DVD sales in Korea.

The cast of the drama Jang GeunSeok and Park ShinHye previously did a fanmeeting in Japan in June and 4000 tickets were sold out in just 5 minutes. And the bands C.N Blue and FT Island, which cast Jung YongHwa and Lee HongKi are in, are also gaining great popularity in Japan, continuing the popularity that A.N JELL receives.

Another fact to prove the drama’s popularity is that the drama DVD is the best selling DVD for the first half of year 2010 with over 7000 drama sets sold. There is also the ‘director edition DVD’ of the drama released which reveals the behind-the-scene stories of the cast.

CNN names the ‘South Korea’s 20 hottest male celebs’

Jang DongGun, Bae YongJoon, Joo JinMo, Jo InSung are some of the Korean artistes picked by American CNN as ‘South Korea’s 20 hottest male celebs’.

The list was revealed through an online bulletin board on 2nd July. CNN wrote, ” These specially chosen South Korean celebs, who we’ve selected purely on the basis of how much drool they elicited from the female members of our staff, no doubt have solid acting, modeling and/or singing skills. But it’s their chocolate abs, sublime faces and lean, mean, sex-machine bodies that get them a place on this list.”

At #1 on the list is Jang DongGun and CNN introduces him as Even though he was recently stolen away from us by the annoyingly beautiful actress Ko So-Young, the recently married flame has been sizzling up screens for over a decade…He first leaped into our hearts with his breakout role in the 1994 drama “The Final Jump” and the 2000 movie “Friends” established him as truly ‘watchable’.”

Actor Jang GeunSeok reveals an incident where he was mistaken as a female due to his backview.

On KBS 2TV Star Entertainment Weekly aired on 19th June, Jang GeunSeok was featured at his fansigning event. The reporter asked, “How do you feel about comments saying that you are pretty?”.

Jang GeunSeok answered, “I feel amazed. Don’t you think that it is not easy for guys to get comments like that? And recently when I hear comments like these, I thought to myself that hair is very important.” Jang GeunSeok was seen with love and wavy hairstyle recently.

He added, “I have encountered many incidents when men had thought that I was a female and turned around to look at me, but when they saw that I’m a guy, they would go ‘*heok’,” revealing that he has been mistaken for a female.

T-Max new member Park HanBi’s recent fresh face selca photos garner interests from netizens.

Park HanBi is known to be casted and playing UEE’s younger brother in upcoming drama ‘Birdy Buddy’. And in the photos revealed, Park HanBi, seen without the usual smokey makeup, has been pointed out by many netizens to resemble Jang GeunSeok and Kim HyunJoong.

Upcoming girlgroup SISTAR member HyoRin will become ‘Jang GeunSeok’s girl’.

HyoRin has recently been chosen to sing a duet song and film a MV together with Jang GeunSeok for Yepp. She was chosen by netizens’ votes during the open audition on Yepp’s official homepage.

Earlier, a video of HyoRin dancing posted online has caught the attention of many netizens where she has showed off her great dancing capabilities. A Yepp rep said, “With the participations of many top musicians earlier like Im JungHee, SG Wannabe, Epik High, Son DamBi, SISTAR will be the star of our music marketing season 6.”

Ahead of their debut coming mid-May, SISTAR has been gaining much attention for their unique styles and had received proposals for endorsement by various brands.
