GaIn to make guest appearance on Family Outing 2 not as ‘Adam Couple’ but as close friend to Jo Kwon

Brown Eyed Girls GaIn will do guest appearance on SBS Family Outing 2.

From 31st May till 1st June, GaIn will be participating in the filming of Family Outing 2 for 2D1N. GaIn has appeared on the show last year with the other Brown Eyed Girls members, but this will be the first time she appears on the show alone.

There is great interests to her appearance since her made-believe husband Jo Kwon on MBC We Got Married is a fixed appearance on the show. The 2 are nicknamed the ‘Adam Couple’ on the show, and on 30th May, Jo Kwon even showed off their couple ring on a broadcast show.

Meanwhile, Family Outing 2 official said, “GaIn will not be appear on the show with Jo Kwon as Adam Couple but just as close friends.”

All stars come together to support the Red Devils for 2010 FIFA World Cup!

Hyunah, as well as several other entertainers, will be involved in SBS’s World Cup project, ‘Waving the Korean flag’. And she’s the crew’s youngest yet again!

On the occasion of the South Korean qualification for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, SBS introduced its new project through a press conference on April 8th. The upcoming show will aim to gather the South Korean nation behind the Red Devils, the national football/soccer team. SBS wants to revive the same flame that cheered the Red Devils when they reached the semi-finals in 2002.

4Minute awarded newcomer award at the 16th Korea Entertainment Arts Awards

The 16th Korea Entertainment Arts Awards ceremony took place on 3rd January in Seoul GyeongGiDo SeongNam Art Centre.

And group 4Minute has been awarded the newcomer award at the awards ceremony.

Also during the awards ceremony, FT Island won the male singer award and KARA won the female singer award.

No SBS Inkigayo today (27.12.2009) ahead of SBS Gayo DaeJun and various year-end special shows

There will be no SBS Inkigayo on 27th December today ahead of the broadcast station’s upcoming gayo daejun.

Because of the upcoming SBS Gayo DaeJun and year-end specials, the production teams from SBS have been busy with preparation jobs, in addition the schedule for various performing artistes is also very tight near year-end, hence there is no plans fo SBS Inkigayo on 27th December as announced on 20th December on the show.

With that, there will be re-broadcast of Star King in place for Inkigayo timeslot.

Koreans choose So Nyeo Shi Dae as 2009 best singer and ‘Gee’ as best song

Poll organization Korea Gallup announces the annual poll collated from the 2 polls done in May and November over 2,919 Korean netizens from the age 13 to 59, summarizing the Korean music industry for both 1st and 2nd half of the year.

And So Nyeo Shi Dae has been voted the best singer of the year for their hit songs and trends with ‘Gee’ and ‘Tell Me Your Wish’ with 29.8% of the votes from the 2,919 who voted.

At #2 is Big Bang (21.1% of votes), even though the group did not have activities in Korea this year, the members had their solo activities and this is their 3rd year at #2 on the annual poll. And at #3 is 2PM who made hits with ‘Again & Again’ and ‘Heartbeat’.

Boycotts and no-show: MAMA off to a bad start?


Mnet announced a new annual music event Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) and also this year’s nominees list on 23rd October (see more).

Already after the release of the nominee list, many netizens are unhappy about the nominee list and how nominees are chosen for each category. Following that, MAMA continues to fall under criticism with trot singers Park Hyun Bin and Jang Yoon Jung revealing that they will boycott the event. (article)

And today, 2 news came up revealing that SM Ent will also be boycotting the event, and DSP also revealed that SS501 and possibly even KARA will not be attending the event.
