How do we recognise the idols of this time?

Mnet music research centre did an investigation on 1000 male and female adults for the whole month of June. The investigation looked into the 57 singers/teams who are the most active currently in the Korean music scene in terms of vocal capabilities, appearances, amiability, talent, performance and variety.

And through the survey, it was known that other than vocal capabilities, the idols are ranked very high in all the categories. In terms of their live performances, 16 ranks out of the top 20 ranks belongs to idol singers. And in terms of appearances, the girlgroups have dominated the rankings. Of the top 10 rankings we see the names of popular girlgroups like So Nyeo Shi Dae, KARA, f(x), After School, 2NE1, T-ara, 4Minute etc.

Big Bang TOP solo song ‘Turn It Up’ up #1 on music chart for 2nd week even without promotions

Big Bang TOP’s latest solo song ‘Turn It Up’ is up #1 on music site Monkey3 weekly chart for the 2nd week, despite having no promotions for it.

The song is up #1 on the chart for the 4th week of June (21st~27th Jun). At #2 position is duet song ‘Nagging’ by 2AM SeulOng and IU. Since early this year, duet songs or featuring songs have mostly turned out to be hit songs on music charts. This applies for IU and SeulOng’s duet ‘Nagging’ and, KWill and Navi’s duet song ‘We Really Loved’ at #3.

The full MV to the duet between vocal powerhouses K.Will and Navi ‘We Really Love’ has been released on 21st June.

The song is written by Shin InSoo who also wrote Davichi ‘Hot Stuff’. And since the full song release on 20th June, reviews from netizens on the song has been good.
