2NE1 and Im JungHee for heated showdown on the music charts

Amidst the 2NE1 fever after their comeback, the group meets eye to eye with ballad singer Im JungHee for a showdown on the music charts.

According to music site Monkey3 for the 3rd week of September, 2NE1 is #1, #2, #4 and #6 on the weekly chart. ‘Can’t Nobody’ at #1, ‘Go Away’ at #2, ‘Clap Your Hands’ at #4 and ‘I’m in Pain’ at #6

While for Im JungHee, her new song ‘On the road to breaking up’ featuring 2AM Jo Kwon, the song had entered the chart at #8 and gaining great popularity. And the song is currently #1 on various music charts’ real time charts, going for a showdown with 2NE1.

[Highlights] 2010 Mnet 20’s Choice by Walkerhill RiverPark Swimming Pool

2010 Mnet 20’s Choice was held on 26th August at 5pm in Seoul Walkerhill Hotel RiverPark Swimming pool which saw the participation of various stars and their hot live performances.

The MCs of the night were Seo InYoung and Jo Kwon, and about 1000 over audiences were also present. And the event had seemed like a summer night poolside party. Unlike last year, Mnet 20’s Choice this year was held with the prize ceremony for the 20 most influential stars for 2010.

IU, “Simon D did not reply to my texts”

Singer IU expressed disappointment towards Simon D of Supreme Team, garnering interest.

IU had everyone curious when she said on MBC “Quiz To Change The World,” aired on the 7th, “I’m sad because of Simon D oppa.” She confessed, “I had a fixed appearance on the same radio program as Simon D oppa. I thought that we got to be really close so on the last airing date, I asked him for his number.”

Continuing, she expressed her disappointment, saying, “As he gave me his number, oppa said, ‘Let’s contact each other frequently,’ but when I sent him about 3 text messages, he never replied back.

The MCs asked Simon D, “Why didn’t you reply,” and Simon D said jokingly, “It’s because I’m not easy.”
On the other hand, 8eight’s Lee Hyun, who also appeared on the show, said “I also asked IU for her number but she said ‘I don’t have a phone,'” putting IU in a difficult situation. She explained, saying, “When I was close with Lee Hyun oppa, I didn’t have a cellphone. To tell the truth, I like nice Lee Hyun oppa over Simon D oppa.”

Jay Park to perform on the Korean music stage after about 1 year for Summer Week&T

Park JaeBum will be back performing on the Korean music stage after about a year for Korea’s first beach festival ‘Summer Week&T’.

JaeBum who is currently preparing for his entertainer comeback activities after signing up wit SidusHQ will be performing the song ‘Count On Me’ of his recent solo album coming 7th August for ‘Summer Week&T 2010’.

The solo album was released on 13th July and there has been great interests as to whether JaeBum will be performing the song on stage.

miss A surpasses veteran singers to be #1 on Monkey3 weekly chart

Newcomer girlgroup miss A has risen to the #1 spot on Monkey3 weekly chart for the 2nd week of July (5th~11th July).

The group’s debut song ‘Bad Girl Good Girl’ is up #1 just 2 weeks after it entered the chart at #16. It has moved up 15 rankings really fast to be at #1.

This is great results for the newcomer considering that they have surpassed other veteran singers like Baek JiYoung, Son DamBi and Narsha to be at #1. MC Mong’s latest song ‘Sick Enough To Die’ which was #1 last week slipped one rank to be at #2. And Baek JiYoung’s song ‘Over Time’ which was #2 last week slipped 2 rankings to be at #4 this week.
