Busy May for group SomeDay

someday_280509

KBS 2TV drama ‘Boys Over Flowers’ OST singer SomeDay had a busy month of May.

After singing the hit song ‘I Know’ off the OST, the boys can’t even rest of the weekend. Since the release of their official 1st album in March, they have been invited to sing for weddings for the whole month of May and the members are starting to fall ill from fatigue.

Their schedule is so tight that they cannot fit in another activity to it. In addition their hit song ‘I Know’ off the drama OST has become the next popular wedding song.

The group is currently promoting the song ‘I can’t be like a man’ off their 1st album.

Singer Harisu has opened a transexual club in Seoul ApGooJung.

She wrote on her minihompy recently that she has opened a transexual club named ‘MIX-TRANS CLUB’.

She wrote on her minihompy, “Me and the seonbae I love have opened MIX-TRANS for people like me. There has been heartbreaking incidents where my friends or seonbae had committed suicide. So we have opened a space for people like us and we can get some respect.”

[2NE1 series interview] Sandara Park, “I have no regrets about giving up on entertainment career in the Philippines”

dara_280509

Sandara Park talks about not having being able to continue on her entertainer career in the Philippines as “no regrets”.

She said in a recent interview, “I was promoting as an entertainer in the Philippines, but I took the bold step and went on as YG trainee. But I have no regrets about not being able to continue my entertainer career in the Philippines.”

“Of course, training as a YG trainee, I have no guarantee for debut. I have no guarantee for success, but because I have dreams to be a Korean entertainer, I worked hard on it.”

Dara has been a reporter, actress and singer in the Philippines. She began to gain interests from Koreans after KBS introduced her in one of the programmes. When she went to Korea for a visit, she was given a basic test from YG Entertainment and then joined as a trainee a month later.

She went over to live in Korea and trained for 3 years before debuting as 2NE1.

After first about joining 2NE1, YG was a little doubtful about it. Because it seems that she has yet to get the hip hop ‘feel’. But Dara worked hart to show satisfaction. She kept listening to hip hop music and dance to hip hop dance.

About the photoshoot that became the topic amongst netizens lately taken in the Philippines, Dara explained about it. The idea of the photoshoot was suggested by one of the seonbae. But the photoshoot concept turned out to be different from what she thought.

Plus back then the atmosphere to the photoshoot was serious, she thought she could not run away from it. And with that she did a ‘sexy’ photoshoot.

Gong Min Ji, “My grandmother does hunchback dance, I do hip hop dance

gmj_280509

Even the tough poppin dance wouldn’t be a problem for Gong MinJi, we can really see that this girl has a passion for dancing.

In a recent interview she said, “My grandmother likes the fact that I’m dancing and she gives me her support. She did not object when I said I want to be a singer.”

Gong MinJi is the granddaughter of famous dance Gong Ok Jin, who is known for her folk dance ‘hunchback dance’. Though the 2 dance to different dances, they both have the same passion.

MinJi said, “At first because I was introduced with grandmother’s name, it is quite a pressure for me. But with this pressure, I told myself I have to work harder. I will show my own powerful dance.”

“I really love dancing. I feel really delighted when I am dancing. Also I can feel the energy flowing through me. I can feel happiness through dancing.”

  1. I love park bom dara cl minzy .i 1see thire concert in cambodia so much .

  2. Hi i love dara minzy cl bom so much .

  3. I never liked Sandara Park when she was here in the Philippines. I love her now that she’s a part of 2NE1. She’s not the best singer or dancer around but she’s working hard to be a good one. Give her credit for that.

And wtf is this about ditching Filipino fans? She’s fucking Korean, for chrissakes, I say she deserves to be in Korea, especially since her career is way better there than it ever was here. What she does with her life is none of your business. If you really are fans, you know better than complain about her leaving the country and getting a better career in her homeland.

  4. haha this is stupid/ she’s stupid! now she can’t frankly say to the world she was neglected here in the philippines. she makes it look like she left us because she doesn’t want here. Laughing my freakin ass off. stupid. stupid stupid.

  5. It’s best for her to leave Philippines. o_O She was
treated like a clown there. Her roles were not serious okay.. so her roles are more of an ignorant girl.

I didn’t know she had sexy photo shoots o_O
    how… random.

  6. Oh, I love Dara much more after reading all of the comments. I haven’t known that she has been the breadwinner for her family. But I can not still figure out why she hadn’t had a huge fan base after breaking with his boyfriend (joseph?) Who is he and why he had such power ?

    • the reason she didnt have a big fan base in the phils. was because after she was really popular among fans, she left and went to study abroad in korea with her siblings.. and by the time she got back.. people moved on and idolized others…
there were more actresses that had debuted and got popular while she was away.. and some phils.. couldn’t take her seriously anymore because she just left after being so popular..

i heart sandara.. i really hope she succeeds ^^,

      • also her boyfriend joseph didn’t really have anything to do it.. it was more like sandara left after not having many job offers and their relationship was already crumbling.. and after she left for korea, he transferred to the rival network..

    • In the Philippines, there’s something called a loveteam. The tv networks pair up artists and if the public likes them, they do a lot of activities like shows, dramas and movies together and they sort of pretend to be a couple. Sandara was paired with Hero at first and their tandem was so popular but Hero had a problem with the tv network so the Hero-San team was broken up and Sandara left for Korea for over half a year I think. That was a bad decision because another girl kind of replaced her so by the time she came back, all the attention was on this girl named Kim Chiu. Dara tried to salvage her career and she had a loveteam with her real bf Joseph but that didn’t click with the fans who were loyal to Hero-San. On top of that, her wife-beater dad left them and took her savings so she struggled for while before ultimately deciding to go back to Korea to start over.

      • i couldn’t agree more. Phil Fans is loyal to Hero-San and teaming up with her so-called BF (which is not even true since it was planned by StarMagic) made her fans not to watch her shows. End of Story.

but i still love her though. now that she’s in korea.

  7. of course dara shouldn’t regret leaving the philippine entertainment–if she does, she won’t be able to go anywhere in korean career… she moved on! what’s so bad about that?

i was still so thankful that even though she left the philippines for her korean career, she would still update her fans whenever she got the time to do so… that just shows her loyalty to us (fans)… posting selcas and updates on her daily life… =] i love how she personally connects with fans…

and being a breadwinner is quite impressive! she’s gone through so much in life in such age..<3

i wish all the best for dara!

  8. i don’t understand why people see dara as selfish….from the looks of it: she’s loyal to her fans, but is also the breadwinner of her family. what else is she supposed to do? besides, she’s doing (and not wishing) what she seems to like, whichi s perform. i don’t see anything wrong with that.

  9. Right on for Harisu being the first celebrity to finally say NO to all these suicides, she’s really pretty. Being a transgender she would know how mean people can be but she’s still confident and fabulous.
idk I think Dara could really pull off that sexy concept. Cl and Minji could’ve been hip hop and her and Bom could’ve been sexy

  10. I have a friend who just moved here from the phillipines and he said the reality of the matter is that sandara park wasn’t doing well there. she didn’t really have a huge fan abse anymore after she broke up with that boyfriend of hers so…its whatever to me, i like her. She’s KOREAN anyways, why are people hating on her so damn much? lololol i also think its good she doesn’t have a sqeaky clean image.

as for Minji, I love her, she’s great and i wish her luck.

  11. I so love minzi. She’s my fave. Ü
i think her dancing is the best.
She looks so cool in every way.

for sandara, or should i say dara?
she’s kinda selfish, I guess? well i dunno.

  12. […] source: kbites […]

  13. Harisu’s really pretty πŸ˜€ I remember seeing her on a Taiwanese variety show before, and she looked gorgeous. Glad to know that she’s helping transexuals out ^^

But Dara… that was a really bad way to phrase that, Dara ._. I like her in 2NE1, but that interview can seem like she doesn’t care for her career or fans in Philippines.

There’s something about MinJi that I really like πŸ˜€ Hope that she’ll do well! ^^/

  14. that is the hottest transexual i’ve ever seen.

the more i see minzi, the more i like her. i guess she’s just too young to have done/said anything stupid i wouldn’t like her for. she’s got passion and talent, and she adorable.

dara.. is getting quite a lot of attention for someone that seriously doesnt stand out to me =\ (i know it’s cuz she was already famous beforehand..)
but so far she just seems like she wants to be more famous for being famous (rather than being a musician/dancer)

    • @ your comment on Dara..
I couldnt agree with you more.

    • No….more Dara is doing this for her family. She’s been the family’s breadwinner ever since her wife-beater dad left them and took all her hard earned money. Dara was financially supporting her mom and 2 siblings on her own, even up to now I’m sure and it’s always been her dream to be a singer.

      • Maybe they should get jobs themselves instead of relying on their daughter.

      • Maybe they should get jobs themselves instead of relying on their Sandara.

      • to ‘errr’ maybe now they can in Korea, now that dara’s openned doors for them. isn’t her brother now also doing something?

  15. Sandara really ditched her fans in the Philippines without a second thought.. that’s really…. not cool. I don’t like her attitude.

    • She really didn’t ditch her fans, she doesn’t have any good offers since her bf then Joseph went to the other network. She even has to do a sexy photoshoot just to get more offers.
I like her now than when she’s still here in the phil. SKorea made her good. ^^

      • uhm so what then? if she runs out of gigs in Korea, then she’ll ditch to go back to PI? she’s desperate for fame. She should’ve sticked to acting. Or maybe a solo. He “ghetto” INTRO dance in their debut, was just sick, literally.

      • what would you do in her place then?

It looked like her career was dead here by the time she left. I dunno but she was “presented” here with a love team. I really didn’t like her here. She could have been a lot more here in the phil if she was managed a lot better.

Don’t be hating just because of her past. For me she has improved a lot.

      • I can’t really call constant updating Filipino fans in PEX and writing or shouting out to Filipino fans in the Filipino language ditching…

    • She didn’t ditch… she knew she had to go… she’s the breadwinner of her family so how do you expect them to get by without work? she explained to her fans anyways and even made a video for her fans before she left… she loves her fans and keeps them updated through PEX till about after her shooting in the Return of Iljimae… But lately she hasn’t updated (not that I know of anyways) probably due to the preparations for 2ne1…

Please don’t judge without knowing the real reasons behind her decisions…

      • Oh, so her family is unable to get jobs? That’s really sad if they rely on their 25 year old daughter to survive.

      • well, now they have heck of alot better chance to get jobs after dara’s hardwork.

      • They had no choice but to rely on Sandara while they were in the Philippines because her mom doesn’t really speak English or Tagalog so she couldn’t work. Her brother and sister were younger and going to school at the time so Sandara had to support all of them on her own after the dad left and took her savings. Now, they probably have some help from their relatives in Korea but pretty much but I’m sure they’re still relying on Sandy somehow. Her brother is also trying to break into the industry, he’s a trainee at Loen Entertainment I think.

    • he didn’t ditch her fans in the Philippines at all… she considered real loyal fans her friends and she tries her best to be close to them…

      • “Oh, so her family is unable to get jobs? That’s really sad if they rely on their 25 year old daughter to survive.”

You seem like youre trying to act like the logical smart ass, but you’re quite stupid if you think you can decide for other people. Her family is her personal business. The way you said that sentence, is slightly offensive and insulting.

And ditch? Do you even know the meaning of the word? And is there a rule where she has to stick to the Philippines? If her true dream is in Korea, no one has a right to lock her up in the Philippines. She can’t just stick to one country you know -_-

  16. Ppl give her a break. I personally don’t like her much but hello, she’s freaking 25, she can do whatever she wants.

And honestly, an image is just an image. We don’t really know what our idols are really like in real life.

Methinks it was a good thing Sandy debuted with 2NE1 and did not start off with a cutesy image to begin with or else all hell is loose.

    • Yeah good thing 2NE1 doesn’t have that squeaky clean, pure and innocent image like SNSD or Kara.

  17. Lol @ Dara having to work on being hip-hop but at least her hard work paid off somehow. People should give her a break about those sexy pics. Maybe she didn’t make the wisest decision at the time and she didn’t realize that it would affect her in Korea because it’s different in the Phils. Anyway she only did it once and never again and a lot of young actresses pose sexy when they want to shed off their teenybopper image and switch to more mature roles. It happens often and no one really gives them a hard time for it. Dara still maintained her sweet “clean” image.
