There are much expectations that 2NE1 member Sandara Park will not only be promoting as a singer but will also be widening the scope to acting.
Sandara Park was preparing to be an actress before she joined 2NE1. But the production which she was originally planned to debut in did not happen and she joined 2NE1 and is now promoting as a singer. But with her outstanding appearances and popularity, there has been a endless stream of ‘lovecalls’ for her to appear in movies and dramas. Already, she has appeared for the 1st episode of 2009 MBC drama ‘The Return of IlJiMae’.
An official said, “Sandara Park had been an actress back when she was in the Philippines, she has also been studying up on acting, so the possibility for her appearing on the big screen is big. There are high chance that she will promote as a singer as well as an actress.”
The official also added, “Even though we have received many production proposals, we have not decided on anything yet. If there is a good opportunity, we not definitely not turn it down.”

I don’t think it will clash with her schedule or performing with 2NE1 because 2NE1 girls barely doesn’t have any schedule but music shows. She can go off to filming during the weekdays whereas she could go to performing with 2NE1 on the weekends. Well, if that ever changes, then idk. She should focus on being an idol first. No offense but she is aging already, though doesn’t show much cuz of how young she looks. But still IMO she should just focus on group activities for a year or so before going off to a different path.
2ne1 seems to be on fast forward mode. accomplishing so many things in such a short while. i do hope Dara stays with 2ne1 more too. but then again, she’s not getting any younger, so its a good thing too

I think she needs to stick with 2NE1 for the 1st half of the year first. Well because 2NE1 needs more recognition. I mean people are still debating on how good they are in music industry. I personally think they are already good. It’s still not a year yet into their debut.

I hope they postpone any plans for now. 2ne1 hasn’t debuted for a year yet and establishing the group is the priority and if she goes into acting, she might have to miss some performances like other idols who appear in dramas. Acting can wait because there will always be opportunities in the future.
i agree. they need to cover more ground as singers first before venturing out into whatever solo activities outside of 2NE1. if YG accepts any drama offers it’ll tick me off a bit cuz they’re still considered rookies. they still have to establish themselves in the market.

@loi: whut? uee is in after school and after school aint rookies. and CNBlue aren’t rookies, k? they’ve been around in the music industry for quite sometime already. it’s only their korean debut. besides, younghwa acted before they debuted, so logically, it wouldn’t interfere with their debut activities now.

anyway, the thing is, 2NE1 as a group haven’t done much yet…… well, actually they’ve done quite a lot considering they’re rookies. but still, prioritizing is important. if dara gets into acting now then YG might push back group activities like he did with BB. they already pushed back group activities when dara did the cass CF and then bommie got her solo and then to compensate, the 2 magnae’s were given a duet. so fans had to wait till this year to get a group comeback.
i mean, their first full length album isn’t even out yet and their first concert is supposed to be in the plannings. i mean, can’t they focus on 2NE1 first? like most of you said, life of an idol is short. so might as well live it to the fullest before steppin in to somethin else. milk her youth. if you’re a good actress, then no matter what age, ppl will still offer you acting parts.
ah, well. whatever it is i just hope we get to see a lil bit more of my girls before they did their own thing. if YG can work out the schedules so they won’t clash then awesome. but YG isn’t exactly the best man when it comes to managing time. if we go at this rate, we get to see less and less of our girls and that just wouldn’t be cool.
