  1. i want to audition and upload a video…

but on daum.net, do you have to be a korean citizen in order to upload??? I signed up already as a user, but it won’t let me upload unless i provide a korean registration number

  2. I don’t understand why JYPE has a audition if has trainer a lot!!!.

I consider JYP could make trainer debut before to have a new audition. The JYP talent trainer is amazing, and them guy are doing their best to have a debut.

  3. what’s the website? is it the audition.jype.com website?

  4. where do you go to audition for it? Is it just on the JYPE audition website?

  5. :O I was born in 96, i’m 13. But then again they probably wouldn’t accept me if i auditioned, i’m not korean -__-

  6. […] Girls.” Not too long after Sunmi left the group temporarily for her studies, there is news that this new girl group will debut in May. Auditions will begin in early April for girls born […]

  7. Getting 96ers isn’t a problem for me, IF they are to be recruited as trainees, that is. I mean getting a 96er and letting him/her debut after a few months doesn’t seem right — that would be too much for the kid, not to mention too fast-paced. That’s how I feel about it personally, even though there are idols out there who debuted really young.

Anyway, this news feels strange and out of the blue. It seemed like it was decided upon quickly. I thought JYPE was gonna debut a solo artist or smth.

  8. 96ers ? Seriously ? Their hardly 14 and you’re going to make them debut ? An idol’s life isn’t that long , its last the most 10 years , in 10 years , the 96ers will be 24 . Thanks for wrecking their lives JYP. At least pick people that are a big older !

  9. ‘Am I the only one that doesn’t find the age limit of 1996 (15 in Korea) to be wrong?

I mean… *Points at Disney and some of their kiddies*

Anyways, 15 isn’t THAT bad. It’s not really “OMG OMG THEY”RE ONLY !5!” kinda thing -_-

I mean, Sohee/Sunmi debuted at 15/16. Seungri at 14/15. Sulli at 11 (actress) and 15/16 (singer). Kang Ji-Young debuted at 15. Minzy at 15/16… And the list goes on and on…

So it’s like… why is it so shocking o.o?

And joining wouldn’t exactly equal no education… because I’m pretty sure there were a lot of K-poppers that are enrolled in Uni.

    • didnt minzy drop school?
¬¬ idols are getting younger and younger..
      of course is shocking
they are just kids…training is just so hard
      and they give up education
that s why sunmi left remember? to have an education

  10. What’s wrong with JYPE?

  11. is it only available in Korea??

  12. Wait, if they plan on debuting this group then when will wg make their comeback? I hope they won’t postpone it though, i’ve been waiting for 1 and a half year for their Korean comeback.

And yeah, the idea of getting a 96er is kinda crazy. I’m a 96er and I don’t think I want to audition. It’s kinda too fast, isn’t it?

  14. So are they using this newly auditioned group to fight off SNSD/T-ara/Kara in Korea etc etc?I don’t think they stand a chance though.

  15. Can’t wait!. =))

  16. 1996 ??? are they crazy? PLEASE, I’m pretty sure there are still trainees in JYP

  17. wow this new girl will have only 1 month to prepare
last audition is 1st April and debut in May
    everything is just too fast
why can’t they just pick the members out from their trainees cuz i’m sure they have more than 5 girls trainees in their company

wow 1994 is already young but now they going for 1996
that is just weird, JYPE love going for young girls

    • I think it is good that they held an open audition, because some people maybe are just not fortunate enough to become trainees of such a famous company. And it’s definitely an advantage for girls born in 1987-1990 because they are probably too old to be trainees! =)
But I agree that 1 month for preparation is a little bit too fast. But if the chosen girl is someone with great talent, then it might not be a big problem. It’s almost the same as American Idol. You join, you win, you debut. Kinda like that..=|

  18. Hmm where is this auditioned held? Or how do you audition?? Is this only in Korea / china ? I’m a 96’er ^^

  19. Just because they’re accepting 96’ers doesn’t mean they’ll chose them -_- Unless they have this hard-core talent going on. I’m sure they’ll choose someone with a decent age.

  20. man, didnt they say they will debut a female vocal group this year too?
i hope this is just for chinese market

  21. I just hope JYP would concentrate on the WGs ..
    bring them back!

  22. omg 1996, younger than my little brother wow!

wa.. i don’t know what to say =O

  24. omona Tha’t seems sudden.
and honestly I don’t like that pic.. the girls look ridiculous becouse their outfits are horrible.

  25. I’d like to welcome this new group but why not take ur own trainee. Gina choi for example….arggh!!! Eventhough she’s under Cube but it’s still part of JYPE.

Btw, does this mean JYP is making another moneymaker to focus in Korea…
I have a feeling they wanna put WG away from Korea for a long long time. T.T
2nd WG??? why not promote them as JYP’s 2nd girl group instead of 2nd WG?

  26. Holy crap O_o They’re accepting girls born in 1996? 1996???? wao wonder kids.

  27. okay wait what? this is confusing

  28. “Meanwhile, YeEun of WonderGirls, who are currently promoting in the States, was also chosen to be part of the group via the open audition.”

I think that was suppose to say…

Meanwhile, YeEun of WonderGirls, who are currently promoting in the States, was also chosen to be part of Wonder Girls via an open audition.

Can’t wait for this new group even though it seems so rushed.

  29. 1996?
OMG go to school people! Education is freaking important geez..what’s going on with the world.

  30. I’m a little lost. they are holding auditions now, and who ever is chosen will debut in May? Isn’t that too fast? They’re accepting girls born in 1996? 13 year olds? >.>

Yeeun is gonna be in this group? What’s gonna happen to the other girls then? Is it a sub-group? Are WG a transitional group now (like Morning Musume)?

I hope they would release more info on this, because as of now, I don’t get what’s going on.

    • no Yeeun isn’t part of that group, they’re just stating that Yeeun was chosen via the same method they’re using now which is open auditions, that’s how she joined WG

      • Yes I know^^
I learned from the Qritza. That’s why I said to ignore this comment^^

    • The girl born in 1996 would be 14 years old not 13, and in korea, you’re one year old the day you’re born b/c technically you were in your mom’s stomach that first year, so thye would b considered 15 (just clarlifying)

  31. i checked the website & it’s in korean, which is weird because i thought the 2nd Wondergirls were going to debut in China.
@Sanoj – basically, JYP is hosting “open” auditions which is where u upload ur video of ur special skill which is dancing and singing. You have to do both I believe and than people vote? I’m a bit iffy on the last part. Because the site is in korean im starting to wonder if WG 2.0 is going to debut in Korea instead because obviously, if you’re going to debut in May – that means u only have about 2-3 months to learn chinese which is crazy. I think it’s too tight of a schedule personally 0.0

    • ok thanks! i thought they are including YeEun in this new group and that she attended the open auditions. that amde me confused.

but seriously? 3 months is a short training/prep period.

  32. “YeEun of WonderGirls, who are currently promoting in the States, was also chosen to be part of the group via the open audition.”

Wait. Huh? Is this group a new group or they replacing the WG members. Why would YeEun be part of this group?

    • Nope, it meant that Yeeun also went through the same procedure before joining WG. SHe wasn’t a JYP trainee before. She joined through this kind of audition n prepared for 3 months before WG’s debut in 2007.

  33. So…JYPE is having auditions this month for a group set to debut in May of this year? That seems sudden.

  34. in the middle of the conspiracies they created? seriously JYPE. i know its not like you can shatter anymore dreams but. seriously? and 96? wow.

  35. wait.. i. am. confused… shed me some light here please…

  36. is this for korea or china market?
