Super Junior KangIn fined with 8 million KRW for DUI charges

Currently in a center of controversies after being charged with drunk drinking and hit-and-run accident, Super Junior member KangIn gets charged a fine sum of 8 million KRW.

The Seoul Central District court has decided previously in December and fined KangIn that amount based on charges of drunk driving plus hit-and-run and also his attempt to escape from the crime after that on 16th October 2009.

KangIn had drove under conditions that he had alcohol before that at 3.10am on the morning of 16th October last year, and then at the crossroad to Seoul KangNamGoo NonHyunDong his car ran into a stationary taxi. With that, he had got off his car and escaped the scene.

Meanwhile, KangIn was also involved in an assault case on September 16th in a bar in KangNamGoo NonHyunDong with 2 strangers and is currently under investigations by the police.

Meanwhile, KangIn has been suspended of his celebrities activities and has been exercising self-control after the 2 incidents.

  1. kangin already paid for the wrong things he did
hope he will never do it again , it makes us diappoint
I’m so glad to see 13 suju again ( hope hanKyung ‘s problem with the CEO will soon be solved )

  2. fighting kagin !

  3. Funny how some fans are blind.

I’m a fan of Suju, but I can still conclude this :

    Idols/singers are humans.

It’s not because this guy have the title of an idol that he can do anything he wants.

“Poor Kangin”…. really?….. in what world the drunk driver is the poor one?

It’s maybe hard for him, but he’s the one who was drunk, he’s the one who caused the accident.

Honestly, I only feel sorry for the 3 persons who were hit in the car.
They’re not idols, BUT they’re still humans. right?

While reading the article, I thought of GD.
Seriously, if he goes to jail then…. it’s a big problem.

Like someone already said ” korean government fail”.
    They should switch the verdicts.

Don’t misunderstood me. I’m not an anti/hater, but I’m not blinded by all that fandom crap.

  4. KangIn ❤ ❤ Comeback we miss U …
BTW most of the comments BLAH BLAH BLAH … and seriously some ppl makes me really wanna throw up with the personalities the have EW !

    • yours makes it worst by supporting a person that could have killed someone. I’m a suju fan but now that I have seen this side of him, i’m not a Kangin anymore. I’ve lost a family member to a DUI driver, I can not forgive any of them no matter who they are.

Think about who your are supporting and the family he could have destoryed if ti was more then a hit and run. I dont support would be killers do you? because that what all DUI drivers are, they just havent found a victim on the road yet.

I think you need to take your idol glasses off and look at the real wold.

      • from what I understand that you don’t give ppl a second chance ?

      • ok, I completely understand you but….everyone makes mistakes. And I’ve never really been a huge kangin fan myself, he’s kinda in the middle for me. Kangin is paying for his crime (I would have given a harsher punishment but whatever) and has apoligized many times. I just think you can’t hold things against a vague group of people because someone killed your loved one. I know how that feels and I know its really hard to forgive, I really do. My grandpa died about 2 yrs ago. He had liver cancer(extremly painful) and went in to have surgery. After they removed all the cancer stuff, the bleeding wouldn’t stop….um,sorry this is still kinda hard…he bled to death on the table. For the longest time I hated all doctors and I blamed both them and God for that happening… I refused to go to my doctor or even look at the bible…and then one day something came over me. It was almost as if God had allowed my grandpa one last trip down to Earth and he came to me in the form of my teacher. He told me that God always has a reason for everything and that when my grandpa passed it was because God saw his pain and wanted to take it away. Now normally I’m not very religious but something to me to believe him, so I did and I felt all that anger and hate just fade away. Now I’m not sure who you believe in, whether it’s God or Budda or somone else or no one at all, but I’m sure that person took your loved one away for a good reason and that they are watching down on you with great love…Sometimes things don’t happen they way we want or things happen that we feel shoudn’t but end the end things happen for the best of everyone. I’m sure your loved one is very happy just as I’m sure mine is too and I hope that you are too and that the person who killed your loved one has paid for his crimes and reflected upon him/herself. I don’t mean to lecture but you can’t hate the people who make mistakes and are clearly sorry and striving for forgiveness

    • its good to be a fan and all but unless you have been hit by a drunk driver or have known someone who has been killed or injured by a drunk driver you will not be able to understand just how serious the offense he committed was. I don’t hate kangin the person but what he did was incredibly stupid which is what a majority of the commenters are saying. He is lucky he didn’t kill someone because that is usually the result when a drunk driver hits someone. my friends have had family members and friends killed by drunk drivers or severely injured and my family has been hit by a drunk driver, lucky for us we weren’t injured. If he learns his lesson that is great but the fact is he still committed this act and deserves what he gets for it. because if he repeats this mistake next time may result in death.

    • how old are you to see Kangin as an “angel” to whom we must forgive everything?

      you’re immature.

    • you’re a shit fan club. You should justify without your damn craze!!! When your idol did sth wrong, you say he was wrong not to take side with him.

    • “most of the comments are BLAH BLAH BLAH”? why dont you open your eyes and actually try to understand the issue? what kangin did was wrong! you may be a huge fan of him, but you cant deny the wrong he comitted-just be glad that someone was not killed.

you say you want to throw up from the comments…really? really now? have you ever been the victim of a hit+run or affected by a drunk driver? throw up if you really need to but it’s not from what we’re saying.

      • I KNOW WHAT HE DID WAS WRONG I’m NOT DENYING THIS OR DEFENDING IT ! BUT it has been more than 3 months ppl that’s my point just give him a chance one more time !

  5. hopefully he learned his lesson. He should be happy he doesn’t live in the states because his punishment in korea is a slap on the wrist compared to what he would of been given here for the DUI + HIt and Run. Driving under the influence is incredibly stupid and I hope he has learned not to make that mistake again because if he does, he truly belongs in jail.

  6. what he did was really wrong and being an adult hope he learns his lesson

  7. i’m not hating on kangin, but really, he deserves some sort of “punishment”. i think that $8000 doesnt compensate for the lives that might’ve been lost so he really got it easy.

hmm, so it’s $8000 for endangering one’s life but it’s a (unknown amount thus far) fine + jail time for “inappropriate” acting on stage. wow, korean government..

  8. I hope he learned his lesson if he was in my country he would sent to jail

  9. Hope he learns his lesson & never do that stupid thing again in the future.

  10. Thats it? No, I don’t mean that he should’ve got jail time, maybe just a bigger fine. SM/Kangin probably compensated the owner of the taxi, but the fine should be more.

  11. maybe the article didn’t mention this.. but he turned himself in for the hit and run incident and the assault case was already dropped a while back….

sooo stupid of him to drive while intoxicate. i hope he did a lot of soul searching and that the people around him are helping him realize how big of a mistake he made and how dangerous drinking can be.

i miss his cheerful eye smile, his laughter, and stage presence on shows and concerts. oh kangin. i’m looking forward to your appearance as a better man. i hope the antis will not make your return a dramatic one. super junior isn’t complete without kim young woon

    • it was still a hit and run….
Lik a Hit and Run not to far
but still a hit and run

8000 usd is a slap on the wrist, you get alot more trouble in the US with a DUI and hit and run.

    • Yeah, SuJu won’t be complete without him.

    • even if he did turn himself in, it was still a hit and run. if didn’t turn himself in, others might’ve figured out it was him anyway.

im a fan of kangin so yea i hope hes a better man now

    • ah…it was hit and run. he turned himself in days after the incident.

  12. 8 million or 8 thousand? I’ve heard 8 thousand, but is it 8 million instead?

  13. he should been jailed and place beside GD at prison…..at least GD got celeb friend in there……and can talk about how stupid they are in the past……

  14. At least he wasn’t sent to jail for like 2-3 years.
Hopefully, he already learned his lesson and not lie to the police anymore.

LOL if GD was ever sent jail because he was ‘supposedly dry humping’ a girl on stage, korean government FAAAAIL!

  15. good. hope he’s learned his lesson and learned it well. oppa! never do these things again. ever!!

can’t wait for his return to SUJU as a new and improved person. 4jib here we come^^

    SUJU HWAITING!!<3

  16. I suppose this is fair, and he should be glad he wasn’t sent to jail.

Drunk driving is a no-no. What if he hurt someone?

  17. Don’t worry
    We’re always at your side!
    Kangin Hwaiting!!!
    SuJu Hwaiting!!!

  18. he deserves that!

  19. Hope he learned his lesson.
It would be awesome to see Super Junior 13 again.
Can’t wait for their 4th Album.

    SJ Fighting ❤
