2NE1 ‘Fire’ up #1 on illegal download site for 3rd consecutive week, will they go long-run like So Nyeo Shi Dae
2NE1‘s debut song ‘Fire’ has been up #1 on illegal download site for the 3rd consecutive week.
MusicSave, which investigates into music and media content downloads online, said, “On popular illegal download sites P2P, Webhard, together with several online cafes, 2NE1‘s ‘Fire’ stands 22.7% of the illegal music downloads, the song is up #1 for the download chart for 3 weeks through.”
2NE1 is the first artiste after So Nyeo Shi Dae to top illegal download charts for such long run. Already being up on the chart for 3 week consecutively has already shown their popularity. They are also one of the top searched keywords on portal sites.
Until now, they only performed once which is also their debut stage on SBS Inkigayo on 17th May.
1 month into debut, band Mate is #1 on popularity chart for rock music
New comer band Mate has proved to be popular amongst rock music fans just 1 month into their debut.
Currently promoting the song ‘Longing’, the group released their 1st album ‘be Mate‘ in April. They were one of the most searched keywords on portal sites after their music were aired on radio.
They also received much attention after having appeared on several radio shows like ‘Yoo Hee Yeol‘s Radio Paradise’, ‘Bae Chul Soo‘s music camp’ and ‘Sweet Sorrow’s TenTen Club’.
They also performed live on ‘Yoo Hee Yeol‘s Sketchbook’ on 22nd May on KBS 2TV channel, with which their live performances were well received by viewers and downloaded by many music fans.
Their album sales are almost on par with that of many new album releases, bys singers like Kim Dong Ryul, Lee Seung Chul, V.O.S etc. They are also #1 for rock music album downloads.
They will also be holding their first concert coming July, to which their concert tickets were soldout in just 4 hours since the ticket sales started.
I’m a great fan of Korean Indie music, and after Nell went to army, hearing Mate‘s music is one of the best thing that happened.
I love Mate loads, and I miss Nell twice as much.

awww I also miss Nell… the really bad thing is that I got to know about them like really late… they were almost in the army…. I guess I missed on a lot of their awesome music…
But I have been listening to Mate songs nonstop for around a month… they are my new K-rock fav.
They are filling the little space in my heart that Nell left empty….
