HyunA ‘Change’ MV given the ’19+’ restriction by KBS, plans for revision of MV scenes

4Minute HyunA‘s solo debut music video ‘Change’ has been given the ’19 restriction’ label by KBS.

The MV was given regarded as inappropriate for those below 19 years from 13th January on KBS. As for SBS and MBC, the MV has been considered appropriate only for those 15 and above; and appropriate for all respectively.

A staff said on 14th January, “The MV is said to have contain some sexual references in it. We will accept the restriction. But we are planning to do some editing to the MV and request for re-examination from the KBS board for the MV.”

Currently, the song has been the topic amongst fans and netizens for the ‘pelvic dance’, and it features BEAST JunHyung.

  1. can’t blame her for being too hot ˇ ˇ

  2. She is only turning 18 this year

  3. i think they did the right thing, because children is like a sponge what the adult do & hear to them they follow so next time the artist , actor and public figure please be careful .

  4. well i saw this coming :S

  5. Creepy that now only pedophiles are allowed to watch the minor gyrate.

  6. totally see this one comming.

  7. gosh how is this sexual???

  8. i expected this.
    ahaha.
    when i watched Change MV,
i suddenly thought about KBS thingy. lol
but i’m starting to like the song, not sure about Hyunah though.
    anyway, ftw Cube ent.

  9. is this what tey call sexual???
look at JYP’s “no love no more”.. its kinda…umm…sensual, but this MV is not! whats wrong w/ her dance…its kinda simmilar to MJ’s dance..ryt?[the pelvic dance, but hyuna is doing it faster than MJ]..
KBS is too much… first, they banned “wont give u” then “yet” by B2ST…then now “chnge”?! umm…
does KBS hate CUBE ent talents??

  10. As usual, Korea read meaning into everything. It wouldn’t been seen as sexual reference if people didn’y read meaning into it, I bet most ppl don’t even think about that….actually in some cases I doubt that lol.

I’ve seen similar moves in shakira’s music video ‘Give it up to me’ and i’m certain anyone no matter the age is permitted to watch it, these moves mean no harm. Hyuna’s moves are not bad compared to other moves i’ve seen which are explict. Just let the girl do her thing.

‘Pelvic thrust’/pelvic dance whatever you call it, is such a great dance move, nothing wrong with it ppl ^^

  11. lol it’s so funny to think that she herself is restricted to watch her vid since she’s only 17.

  12. i like the song and the dance
its not anything sexual like GD with that girl during his concert
the lyrics are tamed depending on how you listen to it

when mirotic was banned, it became a sensation, should hyori ten minute be banned since the song was talking about wooing to opposite sex in ten minutes

chae yeon’s recent single got banned cos of her clip and that was understandable
she was showing lots of skin but compared to this, its kids stuff

    and like someone said earlier
she 17 and its getting a 19+ rating
    wtf
    ,
people say she should act her age but really, everyone enjoys booty shaking and dry humping just as much as everyone else, they just wont admit cos it might be shameful

    anyway rant over

    • tss, vids like 10 out of 10, abracadabra and even bo peep were worse than that less than 2 minutes fancam of GD “dry humping” the dancer, imho. but ohwell, whatever floats yer boat.

basically, korea/korean broadcasting companies has a funny way of setting their rules regarding sticky topics like sex.

    • first off, i’d like to declare that i’m a fan of hyuna. /disclaimer

      what’s more sexual?

an underage female, wearing tiny outfits, her thighs spread and thrusting her pelvis to the camera, REPEATEDLY throughout the song as a choreography in a music video that plays on nation wide television. and a wet rain scene with all sorts of chest pumping and chest rolling?

      or

a 21 yr old adult male, rolling his hips for less than even a whole minute with an equally adult backup dancer, with his back facing the audience (can’t even see it that clearly) performed at a private concert where only ppl who pay wld be able to witness it?

      which is worse?

yeah. double standards. haters will always be haters.

      • @naninoona
hmm i think i agree in a way.

but i think both have their faults. i think the reason why her MV was banned was because of the fact she IS underage. it’s not exactly what you’d call a good example to kids that are underage. if she got away with this, then it’d be telling kids that it’s ok to act like that. as for the other artists you brought up? Chae Yeon is an adult, Hyori Lee is an adult, and all of DBSK are adults. what YOU consider ‘kids’ stuff’ may not be the same as other people.

as for G-Dragon, yes he is an adult as well. he’s of age, so in a way it’s not as big a deal. imagine if he was under 19 (Korean age) and doing that? an even bigger issue. i think it’s partially YG’s fault for planning out this. but of course, GD had a say as well. the fact he agreed to perform the banned songs to a public that was underage was wrong. yeah, parents allowed their kids; but did they know exactly that this was the kind of thing that would be happening?

  13. This is just going to get more people to watch the MV. Nice going KBS.

I don’t get why they’re banning it. Does Korea have a problem with underage sex/Teen pregnancy? This video is hardly sexual. Their have been more provocative videos release which never had restrictions.

    • i agree. there are more sexual, more provocative videos out there, which never had, not one, restrictions…and then this! i knew this was gonna happen somehow, though.

i think KBS just applies it to the “conservativity” culture of korea. 🙂

but then again, this MV is not that too sexual though.

    • though i love beg, their song abracadabra was not banned right?

  14. Come on…
they are saying too much stuff.
Oh well, korean are just like that.

  15. KBS really is the worst when it comes to censorship

  16. oh no! all the 13 year old middle school koreans can’t emulate her p-poppin! ;(

  17. hyunah FTW

  18. yep, this was kind of funny though…

  19. Pretty ironic to give a +19 age restriction when HyunA isn’t 19 yet.
Good luck to her and her future plans 😀
