SM Entertainment came in #2 with 1,193 votes (21.7%). Lee SooMan was also once a singer, and he had set up SM Entertainment grooming some of the biggest artistes of all time like H.O.T, S.E.S in the 1990s. 5. YG Fam is No.1!
    I love YG
    ^^

  6. I wanna be a singer, too :p

  7. i will forced myself to go to JYPE to actually be a spy to find out exactly what happen…all that Jay thingy…i will find out!!!haha!!!

before Jay fiasco happen i really respect JYP coz the way 2PM or 2AM or WG or even GOD making fun of their hyung on variety shows…it shows that he indeed is close wif his artist…

but after the incident wif all the conspiracy theories what so ever,im really not sure about him so the way to find out is to be able to go to that building and be a undercover trainee…hahahahahaha!!!!

  8. DEFINITELY YG!!

  9. SM SM SM SM SM SM SM SM SM SM SM SM!!!!
    SM hwaiting!

  10. I thought JYP would come third

  11. i’m sorry but you could not pay me to sign up for YG. I really don’t like how they run things there.
Either JYP or SM for me. JYP really cares about their artists and SM has access to top names and trainers to offer you the best training.

    • true that. but after this whole fiasco, they might change their ways. and if they do that, no doubt they’re gonna be better than JYP and SM. it’s not like JYP or SM is any better in managing, either. just look at what happened to jay and what’s happening to kangin and lets not forget DBSK. lmao. they’re all the same to me. i’d audition for all three.

  12. JYP FAMILY FAMILY FAMILAYYY (:
they’re a very tight and close bond.
and you can tell that JYP truly does care for his trainees and singers (a lot of good stuff I heard about JYP despite the whole jaebum thing. also heard that the singers in general also have great personalities and are very caring)

  13. YG (:
    I have many reasons why.

  14. i chose YG, it seems cool, has a relax working environment and I notice everybody is having fun and most of all you are treated as a part of family.

  15. Duplicate comment detected; it looks as though you’ve already said that!

  16. YG FTW
They have the BEST SONG WRITERS, and the family is tight. Also as a trainee, you get to appear on stage with other YG members for stage experience before debut =D (CL, GD, YB)

  17. it’s wonderful

  18. i think Core Contents Media and F&C Music are a part of mnet so i will vote for Mnet

  19. i would pick none of these. the ones who pick yg are dumb. they want to sing plagiarized songs and get sued.

    • No, not true. Maybe because people see them like the other companies as talent and want to apply. What would you pick then?

      • nyny, don’t bother with that candy whatever. she’s got something screwing her brains out. she’s an anti-YG you see. so she disses anything YG like a brainless mutt. just ignore her.

      • @naninoona: Good point, I shouldn’t waste my breath.

But if CandyGirl was clever, she would stay out of these posts and avoid talking about them.

  20. I would totally pick YG ent! Even though Big Bang is a group but they also do SOLO as well and I really like that! I don’t know about the other ent though. After what happened with JYPE, I wouldn’t want to work with them…. sorry to JYPE fans… its MY pick!

  21. i choose jungle and yg love them….
and then there is the underground-ers that i would love to be with!

  22. CUBE and J.Tune doesn’t sound bad but they need to established their company first

  23. YG is the elite company to be in…..they cater to the cream of the crop, best of the best…that’s why they hold no auditions, that’s why it’s like nearly impossibly to get in unless you’ve got stellar talent…that’s why everyone wants to be in this company…

its like highschool…you have the higher elite popular group that everyone want’s to be in, but only some can – lol

JYP is the next best thing because JYP does alot of music producing himself and he also trains himself, he has also produced Rain – he’s got good credibility….he’s like the group of friends you have, you know you’re in the “semi-in” crowd and people respect you, but you still look at the elite or popular group….

SM is like a school play – go audition and you’ll get a part in something ~lol. If you’re a pretty face, good body, and can sing you may have a chance to go solo, if you’re a pretty face, good body and okay singer, you’re in a 5 member band and if you’re an okay face, okay body and okay singer then you’re in a 15 member boy band (lol or some other infinity number)

    • YG is not really the cream of the crop… Honestly, I think people overrate YG. Stellar talent ? rofl I don’t see any stellar talent from Dara or even Seung Ri. But I’m not bashing, they are my favourite, I’m just saying. They’re just okay to me. Just like 448000 other members from other SM or even JYP groups.

YG’s music is just different, and I don’t see any difference when it comes to talent. People always say SM trainees don’t have real talent because they are pretty and it’s the only thing they see. The second reason is because SM debuts a lot of groups and some members are just okay, but 2 okay members per group x the number of groups makes it a big number. But trust me, every single member has good vocals even if some are weaker than the others, they CAN sing. SM won’t debut someone who can’t sing at all. Believe me on this, or if you don’t, tell me who can’t sing from SM.

If TOP, G-Dragon or CL have amazing rapping skills, I don’t really find the other “stellar” at all. Except Minzy who has the whole package but that girl is a genius. Bom is not good at dancing, and Dara is weak when it comes to singing and dancing. Her personnality is amazing though.

But hey, that’s why groups exist, because different member can be good at the other member’s lack of talent in some category. If they were all perfect, they would go solo !

About JYP, I don’t see why the fact that he trains people himself makes the company a better place… And the fact that he produces his own music can be a + or a -. I don’t like JYP’s music so it’s a – for me. But it’s just a matter of taste. It’s not a good point to me that he produces all the songs lol.

Then again, I’m a hardcore 2NE1 fan, but also SNSD fan, so I’m not afraid of saying bad things about YG or SM. And I’m saying these things about companies, not the amazing groups they formed, so peace 🙂

anyway, I would go YG or SM if I could get in one of the two.

      • that was a good one. i enjoyed reading it. but i have to partially disagree with you abt seungri. he is talented in dancing. that’s where his specialties lie. he choreographs for the group if i recall properly. top can rap. he’s gotten better over the years, but lets not forget that mega joint stage with epik high. he screwed up a lot there. and top can’t dance…. much. so if you’re comparing talent, i’d say seungri is just AS talented as any other in YG. only that his talents lie in a different area.

i’d say minzy is comparable to GD in which they’re both all-rounders. both of them are pretty much talented in all 3 areas of a performer. dancing, singing and rapping.

but other than that, i’d say you’re right. ppl are kinda overrating YG. i don’t blame them though. his artistes are in fact, by a margin, better than the others in JYP and SM. but not by much.

    • that is one good analogy!^^

    • an indirect diss to SUJU. lmao. eventhough SM’s artistes are normally associated with pretty faces, it doesn’t necessarily mean they got no talent. bloody hell i dislike taeyeon a lot. but can that girl hit a note? you betcha. and SM’s idols are normally well rounded. if they can’t sing, they can dance. if they can’t dance, they can act. if they’re mediocre in most, then they’re probably good MC’s.

most of SUJU are talented in everything. if they’re so-so in singing and dancing, their stage presence and personality makes up for it. their humor is top notch and they can definitely call in a crowd. and that takes a lot of talent. not to mention, one of them is an awesome violinist. how many bands have that? think abt it. =l

sorry, i may not prefer SM, but that indirect diss to SUJU was uncalled for. an ELF here. couldn’t help it.

  24. YG is probably the top company because of how well they have been doing over the years and especially now. We can see that YG has trained well-known and popular artists and have some that have resigned (I heard Gummy was one). Also YG seem to be a family and YG takes care of them well, in my opinion. We can all see he socialises with them well.

G-Dragon and 2NE1’s albums this year have done extremely well in copies, I heard G-Dragon has reached over 100,000, I still don’t understand why just 30 seconds is just a big deal, it’s not like he’s copying the song.

But back to the main subject, I can see why too. I heard not a lot of YG artists have plastic surgery, is that true? If so, they are pretty natural.

What I really want to see in the future is three companies (mainly SM, JYP and YG) put a group together of three members or maybe three from each company of their best. That would be interesting to see.

In fact, I’m just going to write an article on my blog, NyNyOnline about that. But I think I would join YG, JYP then Plendis.

    • I’m sorry but even 10 seconds is a big deal and it’s called plagiarism. It’s like saying copying two sentences from an article to an essay is no big deal – if you do that for Uni you will be penalized indefinitely.

  25. from the start i have always choose JYP and YG.

  26. I would totally go for YG Ent.!
    Love their family relationship!
They’re not really restricted to what they wanted to do and YG let them explore which is a good thing for artists…BUT…too bad, they don’t held auditions or anything…LOL…so the chance to get in YG is like .00000000000….1% unless YG himself spot u with talent he thinks u can make it! HAHAHA….

  27. definitely YG !! ^^
i would be awesome if GD can compose one of my songs .
hehee. then, if my song got first on the chart,
i’d say ‘ thankyou GD oppa, saranghae!’ ^_^
lol. me and my dream huh ?..

    hmm… besides YG,
i think dsp would be great too.

  28. YG baby! If I can’t get into YG, then JYP!
Then again, I do NOT want to be a K-celeb!

  29. lololol YG FTW!

  30. urineun yg! famileeh famileeh famileeh~~ hahaha. :))
i’m really willing to train in YGE. not just because 2NE1 & Big Bang is there.. @_@ it’s because they treat each other like a FAMILY and i love their music. [and i want to work withTeddy oppa! rofl] ♥
i wanted to audition in SME BEFORE. but when i knew the ‘slave contract’ thing and how they are trained.. whoops,BACK OUT! hahaha. i want to fulfill my dream not in their way. XDD

  31. SM is like a dead end.

  32. any company is okay, they all basically manufacturing idols. screening is one thing, but grooming is the important part.

this part in their language is called as INVESTMENT which every debutants must paid back over several years. so watch this part super carefully because this part will affect your daily schedule and payment and period of contract. if you don’t want to be trapped as ‘slave labour’, get this part right. not to sure? consult a law book.

got accepted? congrats, now you had to endure the training. just remember to keep your agony and frustration out from the internet. using diary might be boring but its safer, you can burnt it anytime or published it when you’re out from this industry.

managed to debut? wish you bunch of luck. there’s quite a long road for you to pay back your company’s grooming money. do whatever that can escalate your career or your management might kicked you out if they think you’re not profitable. once you’ve done with the contract its all up to you.

welcome to the world of Korean Idols. this is big business.

    • i totally agree with u angsana.which ever company doesnt matter the most important is what type of singer u wan to be.nothing come free in this world.the company waste lots of money just to train u of course when u debut u have to kind of pay ur company back.is one choice whether to sign a contract or not.nobody force them to sign.when u already sign the contract u should expect what is the outcome.

    • but if you’re just a trainee in a certain company and you dont have a contract with them yet… do you still have to pay the investment when you’re kicked out or you wanna get out urself?

      • even as a trainee you’ll have a contract, the non exclusive one just to make sure you’re on their list and do as per the contract bid you to. oh yes, this is a requirement as per law.

depending on the agreement, such contract usually expires in short term, a year or less, and after management evaluation on your progress during training then you’ll have the chance to renew the contract. if you’re no good then they won’t renew the contract. from business perspective this is what they called as PRUNNING.

but during this training days you also have your chance to change your mind. many did this like that of UEE and YOOBIN, both transfer to different agency when they were trainees. if the contract expires and you leave or refuse to renew it, then no penalties.

when the company deemed fit to support you to debut, then the INVESTMENT will go double or more. they will have to market you as unique as possible and open a lot more media window for you to perform and gain recognition. at this point prior to debut they’ll offer you a totaly different contract, not as a trainee anymore but as TALENT. be it singer, actor or MC. after this agreement is set then the whole calculation of profit-meter will ticking.

by the way, no guarantee that every trainee will eventualy debut. some failed during training days. some who managed to debut failed half way. so who paid the INVESTMENT on those who not make it or failed?? well, who else then the currently HOT SHOT IDOLS of that particular entertainment company. they are the money machine, they cover the company operational money.

this is the reality. new rookies only get a variation of small portion of payment to almost none during debut days. when they succeeded the number will increase of course. but again this is entirely depend on the contract, what kind of profit split that all parties had been agreed upon?

being an idol in Korea means becoming a comodity. well not only in Korea though.

  33. i wanted to be trained by SM, i am so envious of how sm artists dance and sing! But i don’t want to debut, just to be trained! and seeing sj members everyday is a plus too! ;p

  34. YG = go for hip hop but never be hip-hop properly for once (instead their products go for something like JYP) + questionable management + know how to get things hyped with media play game, but appear to grant freedom to their followers
SM = go for pop and ballad (and know how to work it well) + excellent marketing (a bit of management) but questionable contract terms + not appear to grant freedom to their followers
Jungle Entertainment = go for anything artistic and musical, cool management, no play with media and truly appreciate artist’s freedom (this company doesn’t know the word idol, they only know the word artist). I definitely go for this one if I want to be a true artist.
JYP = go for catchy popy (and know how to work it well) + know how to produce idol star but freakingly stingy with their followers’ artistic freedom (no, you only sing songs written by me) + face value (JYP face is like a ghost attached to any of JYP followers’ success. you just can’t detach it even when you go solo, regardless how you effort – look at Rain for a perfect example) + questionable management (one-man game?)

In short, audition and training in SM, YG and JYP are equally hard and all share their “on-screen beauty value” quality (I can put GD in suju and he can still be flower boy, Minji’s bare face is better than Sohee of Wonder Girls, etc and etc. They all are idols who have to have face or body values first. Can’t blame them cuz their markets are not general musical audience and thus trendy and/or catchy/cool and/or cute is a must)

    • I totally agree with ya…..JUNGLE would be best if all you want to do is produce good music.

YG and SM and JYP are all just for producing idols.

    • i know this is your opinion, but i don’t agree with some of it.

YG = rather than the typical hard core hip-hop like the ones you hear from the US, i would say their hip-hop songs are “cleaner”(?). JYP and YG songs are NOT the same. You can easily tell which songs are from JYP and which songs are from YG.

      SM = nothing to say

Jungle Entertainment = i think the smaller companies like this tend to debut artist and not idols. so again nothing to say here.

JYP = strongly disagree with the part that his artist only sing songs that are written by JYP. Wonder Girls have songs that are written by Minwoo and other composer same with 2PM. It’s just that their most popular songs are written and produced by JYP, so you can’t blame him. I think their artist do have freedoms if you compared them with SM’s artist but definately not as much as YG’s artist. For the face value thing, it’s mostly fans and media who still associates Rain to JYP. I thinkk it’s mainly because they are close and like brothers, they still keep in touch and hang out together when they’re both free. I don’t think it’s that bad. JYPE and most of the other Korean entertainment companies is NOT a one-man game. They have stockholders in their company and these stockholders have a say regarding the company and the artist. It’s just that JYP is the face of JYPE and LSM is the face of SM,and yes, they are the ones who set up the companies but they don’t have the last say or decisions on the company and the artist.

So, although with all the speculations and dramas, i’d choose YGE and JYPE maybe J.Tune or CUBE too. YGE and JYPE artist just seems so close and supportive of one another like one big family. You can see that both YG and JYP really care for their artists and they are like a father/brother to their artists.

  35. better to watch you guys become an idol…

  36. Calling SM’s artists treated as slaves is too exaggerating… Slaves are those who worked their asses off without being paid or fed.
I see no difference among groups from all companies. Artists from all companies are just as tired…
hospitalized, overworked, fainted, got sick, have little privacy, stressed out. lol
    I don’t wanna be an entertainer…
However, i chose SM coz I wanna see the result.
If LSM n JYP joined together without having mean n money-oriented CEO or shareholders. It’ll be the best.

Come to think of it….Epik High’s independent company is probably good. ^^
    J-Tune???

  37. DSP for me! I like the way they mix and max their groups. Next would be JYP, SM!

  38. SM ent. is scary. imagine their contract is 9-15yrs/ omg. i would be old after that contract expired. 16+15 = 31. x_X singers or slaves? 😀

    • neither, whoever sign up is an idiot.

      • So u’re implying DBSK n other SM idols who r tied to the contract as idiots?
We don’t even know the exact contracts of other SM artists besides DBSK. DBSK is the older generation of SM’s idols before they changed CEO. Who knows that maybe there’s a small change….

    • Look at positive side, your career is guaranteed for 9-15 yrs man. Many artists, after their contract ended, are not as successful as who they used to be. No matter how you denied it, your agency plays the biggest role in your career, aside from your talent. There is even a saying, debuting in SM already guaranteed you a success. If you’re looking for a long bright future, go to SM. If you want a short period of career & want to enjoy your early 30s peacefully, go to other company..

      • loooool.

people talk as if once theyre in the company, theyre guaranteed an extensive contract. you’d be lucky to get granted over 5 years in your contract.

people talk as if they have the option. the better you do, the better the contract will be. the better the contract, the longer the extension on your contract. the longer the extension, the higher stacks of profits. more profit equals more fame. more fame equals 😀

  39. i would go for ‘others’ entertainment(but hopefully the wont have any financial issues).. cause i know i’ll make that particular entertainment popular once i debuted..they would treat me good then..*flings hair* ^^

ps:you should think highly of yourself and be confident..huhuhu

  40. ill go for YG
since they said when you got accepted its your choice to come practice or not
and your hard work will be paid off sooner or later
the most important part about this rules they put is your own effort and how much you really want to be a singer

  41. YG THE BEST

  42. YG ROCKS! despite all the controversy…
I love the family concept 🙂

  43. loool. netizens are “into” hip-hop”?

this survey, although entertaining, really doesnt say much. YG has the most hype around mainstream music currently and so people will obviously want to tryout for YG.

but once again, i seriously doubt many korean netizens even fit within the culture of YG. they’re picking based on well, their idols.

personally, i’d choose SM. dont get me wrong, back when the war of words about THE boy group of Big Bang or DBSK, i went for bigbang all the way. why? theyre the second group that got me into kpop after Wonder Girls. But like i said, I’d choose SM. The idols coming out of that company seem reallyyyy easy-going and totally chill to hang out with and be friends with.

idk, jyp seems cool too. lol, if i tryout for one and fail, go for the other

  44. Pledis Entertainment (Son DamBi, After School)~

also JYPent as JYP seems like a cool guy.

  45. of course, YG Entertainment

  46. I vote for SMEnt ^^

  47. i`m surprised the top 2 are YG and SM.

apparently shameless “sampling” and even slave contract don`t matter much to trainees or non-trainees, huh ?

i`d rather go to jungle, hook, good, or star empire

  48. if they ask what company i like and trust it would definitely be yg they have a very family orienated business but they asked what company i would go to it will have to be sm they make the big artist snag all cf and they just might pay for surgey if i wanted it. and they rake in all the money. i’ll visit yg on the weekends to hang

  49. I would like to join in this order:
    1) YG (Big Bang, 2NE1, Se7en)
    2) JYP (2PM, Wonder Girls)
    3) Plendis (After School, Son Dambi)

  50. Mnet media =)

  51. YG bitches hahahaha 🙂

  52. MNet Media, IS, Core Content, F&C all related to CJ MNet.

    • thanks for clearing that up
i always thought ftisland was with mnet but then i kept seeing the F&C label with their name.
i didnt even know sg wannabe went to IS, i thought they were still mnet.

i think i’d either go with jyp or any of the mnet companys

  53. although the problem between artists and SM has many case. for close up my love -SUJU- then SM is the best if i wanna be singer.

  54. ><
haha! yeah! we got YG on the TOP!
khekhe…well, for me, being in YG is the best place to be . 🙂
you see, they like 'real' family no mmtr what, and yes, they protect each other.
just look at President Yang, he like every one father and just the right father i want as for my 2nd father.
and owh! if i join YG, fosho there will be Big Bang and 2ne1 in the building!

    • Yes, when GD had his controversy,, YG defended GD and even gave a public apology himself. Unlike others that just exiles their artists when creates a mistake..

  55. ARE THEY CRAZY! WHO WILL PICK A COMAPNY FULL OF BLACK WANNABE’S TYRING TO GO GHETTO. OMG O.O KOREANS WANT TO BE BLACK NOW? AIgooo.
    YG = SUCKSS

But I prefer SM. I hello SM ❤

    • oh hell no,I’m black and that is a RACIST thing to say. GTFO!

      • I’m black and I don’t find that offensive o.o YG do try to copy African American style of music. But I don’t it offensive.

      • what the hell the offensive part is black= ghetto what a dumb statement i don’t see yg trying to be like fefe dobson what a loser

and sm is filled what boybabd music from the 90s i guess there trying to be white too huh dumbass

      • I find it offensive for her to say whoever picks YG wants to be black. That is racist.

    • go to hell

    • racist b*tch

    • *points finger* RACIST!!!!

    • That is a racist thing to say, especially to a black person myself.
YG is not a ghetto wannabe black people, they are just heavily influenced by R&B and Hip-hop.

    • BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH funny how you say Koreans want to be black .. if you were smart enough you’d know & understand that SM is a Korean company and almost all the artists are Korean..Anyways, Sherlock, I don’t know what you’re trying to imply here since I can tell you aren’t Korean. Either way, YG family, I think is the best company to be under.. SM produces great artists, but seriously who the fuck wants be under such a whack management ?! Even their own artists are suing them…LMAO if that isn’t bad enough their ceo/representative is a money hogging whore.

P.S. Honey, only a bimbo like you would use such racists and offending words.

    • SM just care about the artist face…they accept that girls and boys who are handsome and beautiful=.=lll
and i noe sm not really like people who goes audition SM wear HIPHOP…
but YG treat all the artist like a family…thats why they call YG Family!!!!

    • think before you speak, shithead .. your comment seriously made me laugh. you might as well say great artists like Drunken Tiger, Epik High, LeeSsang, Tasha, etc. are “black wannabes trying to be ghetto” HipHop and RnB are music genres not certain styles assigned to one race.

stupid people like you make me laugh : ) it’s too funny anyways learn how to spell. Capitals and periods aren’t essential when online chatting, but spelling is pretty much required because without spelling skills we literate people won’t be able to understand a thing dumbasses like you are talking about.

    • WOW KATHY, i bet you like to go good deeds, being a SLAVE sure suits you, or you are BORN TO BE?……..i bet born to be a loser toooooooooooooooooo…….

    • black is hip hop?
      pffttt…what proves that?

aint black associates with the safari dance…pffttt…

      ur statement is a problem.
dont come here bashin if u r not interested in asian music.

      bug off

    • yea i’d take yg over sadomasochism company anyday

    • that’s not even the point. they’re not trying to be black. and not all black people act ghetto. i think what their concept is, is reaching the american style.

  56. YG all day ❤
SM work their artists like slaves.
Cube so I can be around 4minute and B2ST ❤

  57. I couldn’t have said it any better yg(: its nice that they call it yg family. Its what makes them stand out and ita great how they always support one another(: its better to be in a company that sees you as family rather than just a source of income.

  58. YG~~~

  59. YG!!

  60. YG family all the way.

    JYP and SM are whack

  61. YG!!

  62. YG or Mnet media

  63. YG family all the way, they are tight like a real family and look out for each other and live in the same building!

  64. Slave contract for SM? No thank you.

    YG!

    • hahaha.so true talk about signing your life to the devil… yg bby 09 till infinity. but you gotta be heaps good unlike SM that offers everyone no matter how untalented ==” no offense

  65. YG !!!!my 1st and the last choice!!!!

  66. gotta agree with the netizens on this one. YG ftw!! i think the controversy hurt JYPE much more than they think. i’m suprised they lost to Jungle Entertainment

    • I’m suprised they lost to SM,JYP actually lets you out of his contract if your unhappy. I guess some people would rather you be in the group for 13 years then being out when you want.

      • i think people blow the “slavery” issue out of proportion…

not every star gets “enslaved”. dbsk was special and had a very long contract because of their value. they’re gold in SM’s eyes.

if you are decent at first, maybe 1-2 years(?). if you stay that way, theyre not going to blow that much money on you and extend your contract. if you however improve and become their money in the bank, yeah, you’ll get a longer contract.

  67. hate SM, thats for sure

  68. I don’t Know Anymore. I used to dream about working for JYPE and audition for them but after the whole Jaebum thing I saw their true colors and it doesn’t look good on them. Womp Womp Womp.. =/

Hopefully I’m wrong and everything doesn’t look so bad..

    • and JY¨P has nothign to do with it. unless you have proof? Jaebom left BY HIMSELF, period. there’s not a secret conspiracy behind his leave
      get over it now.he’s gone.

  69. i cant believe i still vote for JYPE after all this controversy. maybe cos i still have a lil bit of faith left in JYP himself.

  70. I would sign for YG or JYP hehehe 😉

  71. Mnet entertainement,Good entertainement or ”Fluxus” music ent !(Whaaaale <3)

  72. well to have a good amount of success as well as be treated well, YG. but getting in will probably be hella hard, and debut is not gauranteed.

  73. YG FTW!
